Hi All, I'm having a similar issue on my PSW505 amp. I get constant crackling and popping while its plugged in. It's 3 years old but gets very little use- it's in a basement rec room that we watch movies in a few times a month. It's probably out of warranty, I'm sure. Is there a source for the amplifier boards? Seems like a horrible waste to pitch a sub that has $3 worth of failed capacitors on it.

    Hello,
The bass amps come with a three year warranty, try and find the exact date of purchase. Polk sells replacement amps for $150.00, but as a member of Club Polk you get a discount. I believe they are currently out of stock, but believe they'll have them in three weeks. For information call them at: 1-800-377-7655.

    Hello,
Let me try and get the amplifier's schematic and I'll send it to you.
    Regards, Ken

Is it possible to still get a schematic? Support keeps telling me that it is only accessible by technicians but looking at this thread... a few people have it.

My PSW505 is doing the same, red light (sometimes) and buzzing with heartbeat but no output. I purchased from Amazon Jan 2016 so it's out of warranty. I bought it for $169 so I think a $150 repair is out of the question. Can you send me a copy of the schematic? Thanks.

    Hey all,

I have two PSW505 subs and I had this occur on both amps. Both were replaced and now the replacement I got in July has now crapped the bed and Polk will not replace the replacement since it is out of warranty. Service number from July is 200612-001275. Any help from a Polk manager would be greatly appreciated. I’m getting a little disenfranchised with having this persistent issue.

    Thanks,
    Matt

Had same issue as well for my PSW505 sub. It is within warranty at the moment. I don't mind fixing myself if possible, but can ship back to Polk

Greetings! Another PSW505 that won't come out of standby mode here. I wish I had handled this before it went out of warranty. I'd appreciate anyone that could kindly send me the schematics. Thanks in advance!

The best place to begin would be to contact Polk's CS at: 1-800-377-7655 you should have the date of purchase available when you call.

I have the same problem I bought this under three years ago. Looks like the amp is under warranty for three years. Sent an email to customer service with proof of purchase since there is no support in the weekend. Hopefully this can get resolved quickly.

So I'm adding myself to the list of the PSW505 that won't come out of standby mode here with the red light on constantly. Unfortunately, it's out of warranty. I'd really appreciate it if anyone that could kindly send me the schematics.

Don't believe a word I say, but this is what worked for me, friends:

[Same symptoms as posted above, crackling etc...]

While playing music, Receiver Sub Output = Yes, PSW505 On>>Unplugging and re-plugging LFE Cable switched light from Red to Green. High volume levels corresponded directly with frequency of Red flashes in solid Green light. Volume knob position at 40-50% yielded transparent interior base.

Cycle Standby/Auto/On. A few hard taps might work too ;) most of all, believe it's gonna go back to Green.

How long will it take you to install all of the screws? Carp, did I use my out loud voice?
