I believe that might have been a black mamba, a highly venomous snake from sub-Saharan Africa.

Great story indeed, I'm sure he'll treasure it for many years to come and tell how he got it for many years as well.

I remember those aluminum trees with the color light wheel. Never had one. Always real trees growing up.

T.G &. Y.'s must have been an early Dollar Tree, Dollar General type store.

Been doing some ceiling work around the house too. We don't use our ceiling fans anymore so I replaced 3 of the four so far with LED lights. Replaced 3 other lights with these same LED fixtures. Our house seems more modern now. Oh, I bought some dimmers and damn, LED dimmers aren't cheap! 25.00 a pop. :#

Oh well...I think it's worth it since I'm doing the work myself.

    They're pretty cool lights.
I've put up 6 so far. 30.00 each I believe.

A smoke alarm beeped the other day. So I went to replace the battery. One terminal was corroded. I bought 6 new ones and put up 4. I feel safer now! :D

And when that happens, you cut the head off and put on a replacement end. Problem solved! Just make sure to swap the other end to female or you will be in a world of hurt... ;)

That cat seems to have found him a new human...

    That's what they do :)

Well, at least -- that's how we got Griswold (the first cat to share an abode with Mrs. H and me), when we lived in the Silicon Valley. He painstakingly and methodically insinuated himself into our lives over the course of two years.

When we moved back East, he ended up flying coast to coast with my wife & our kids First Class on American Airlines (albeit in his little cat cage). That wasn't really the plan, but that's how things worked out. :)

Griswold had a good, long life, too.
    He chose wisely. ;)
