^^ The XP-79 was the first jet-powered aircraft of the United States. Its purpose was to attack enemy bombers at unusually high speeds by ramming into them, without suffering any damage itself. Its unique shape and strong magnesium-covered armour would allow it to slice off the tails and wings from enemy aircraft. It was nicknamed “The Flying Chainsaw.”
The first US jet aircraft, the Bell P-59 Airacomet, made its maiden flight on October 1-1942 -

So, I shut off my cable last November after the World Series ended for a couple of reasons. To save money, and because there is very little I care to watch on TV these days that I can't get for free with an antenna (other than MLB).
When I do watch TV it is mostly classic shows on MeTV. A few weeks ago the local NBC affiliate switched out one of their sub channels to Antenna TV and I now enjoy watching the classic TV programs they offer.
I have totally fallen in love with Marlo Thomas on That Girl. She is very adorable and charming on that show. From her cute face, that hairstyle and outfits she wears, and her mannerisms and facial expressions, I find her irresistible. I remember watching the show when I was a kid and thinking she was pretty, but seeing it now all these years later she was even cuter than I remember.
As far as that goes, I find the women from the 50's - 70's so much more appealing in regards to their clothing and hairstyles, and watching these old shows cements that feeling for me. Back when women could be both feminine and sexy at the same time.
Now get off my lawn!!

Oh, I fell in love with her (at some level) when that show was new (a long time ago)!
A beautiful woman -- Danny Thomas' daughter.
The show was often pretty good too (at least, in memory), with her grumpy father and her somewhat dopey but earnest boyfriend.
She was even more comely looking in later episodes (i.e., a few years later) without the bangs, IMO (and FWIW).

The Froot Loops really make the plate pop.
In other Dad Joke news from Somewhere Else...

That girl- and after that Mary Tyler Moore.
Next up- Marsha Brady. And Winnie Cooper from wonder years. (for you younger guys).
I don't think there will be any more girl next door types on tv. It's a shame."The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbour to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg." --Thomas Jefferson -

I saw that cat downtown begging for spare change or catnip.

I know this is a '"Post a Picture" thread but what is a picture ?
What is a video ?
Is not a video merely a series of consecutive pictures ?
Is not a picture a suggestion of what is yet to come ?
We should ask the cat.

You know... I've been thinking about moving to northeastern PA and opening a shop specializing in processed dairy products.
Cheeses of Nazareth.
Wait? What?
It's been done?

The best one yet!
