    Cool Karma. B)

    Not in.
I have a couple from the series already. ;)

    One needs repair though.
The arm just floats to the middle, skating across a record in 4 seconds.
    Any idea as to why?

Does it drop down and then skate, or never drop? The more 'normal' problem is sticking - not advancing, which is usually from a worn-out tonearm belt and/or old sticky lube.

It drops and then skates. It's like there's no tracking speed going on at all. I'll go out today and hook them up and review their motions again. ;)

Are you sure the diamond tip is still there? Bonded tips, especially, can break off, and then you've got nothing in the groove. But these linears usually have a tracking mechanism to control the movement.

I just came back in from testing the only TT in that series that I still have. I think.
I only have one TT in that series now. An SL-Q6 w/manual.
    Pic. from the web;
    fostuxfi7ovx.png

I tested it and it works fine. :pB)
I looked for the needle tip right away.

I believe I looked at the other TTs cartridge needle tip and I think it had a good tip on it...But if it didn't...THAT would explain the skating!
But I've had records for 35 years and know a little ( :) ) about needle tips. But I am getting old and I probably gave that TT away during a bad time with pain back then.
Then again, it might be tucked away for repair in the bowels of my collection somewhere. :#

I'm really thinking I must've given the other one away as a bonus gift to somebody who bought a lot of stereo stuff one day. I remember trying to take the mechanism apart from the lid and couldn't see how to fix a darn thing. I think I only got one level deep and couldn't see how to fix it. I'll wonder if it was the needle tip from now on.. :D

Thanks again for your experience and knowledge pertaining to this series of cool Turntables. ;)

Haha...well, I've worked on a grand total of two at this point :p so not exactly an expert. But they are fine little decks when working properly, and there are some VERY good cartridges/stylii available for them.

Back pain can really hinder things in this hobby, so I feel ya. It actually causes back pain many times.

    I hear ya.
    You're 2 TTs ahead of me. ;)
These technics turntables like yours weigh a lot too. Solid little TTs!

This hobby can cause groin pain too. Carrying 80lb. speakers is getting harder and harder the older I get. After the thrill of purchasing wears off, it seems they gain 40 or 50 more lbs.

    Real quick...
I saw an ad for free audio stuff on Thanksgiving day of all days. The stuff was 35 miles from me. A long 35 but it was a beautiful day and I took a trip to see if these amps were still on the ground as was shown in a picture.

I got down there and they were still there. I grabbed them and put them in my truck like they weighed 20 lbs. each. I brought them home. A few days later I went to move them from my truck. :s:o
They weigh about 51 lbs. each I think it was said here on the forum by Drew. :D
    I couldn't believe it! :D
    Adrenalin is an amazing hormone!
Carrying them into the cottage was a totally different event. :#:D

Please speak-up if you've changed your mind, or if I've missed you. I will use the =RANDBETWEEN function in Excel to determine the lucky winner.

I bet you do regret selling that! I regret not buying an LT-22 that sat forever on my local CL. You're in on this now.

Some fresh images. Notice in the second pic - the right side - a "previous owner" etched his name into the plastic chassis, under the 'Stop' button >:) "Joseph Z____" Of course the new owner will see the full name, but I erased the remainder of the last name for this pic.

Yeah, one of them melted a bit at some point, but it functions perfectly fine. The pic probably looks worse than it does in person.
