It’s site wide. Makes sense to avoid blocking obviously copyrighted material.

Even Twist & Shout, a local brick and mortar record store, carries bootlegs. I bought 10k Days, Aenima, and a live Tool at Lollapalooza LP from there.

Yeah, I've seen locals sell a few bootlegs in the past too. But with a company like Discogs which is facilitating thousands of transactions a day, it paints a target on their back if a notable number of those are known bootlegs. A record label probably isn't going to hunt down a local shop for probably less than 100 bootlegs a year. But with the sheer volume of business done on discogs, that could lead to some serious penalties and lawsuits.

Since you can get the album in high-res 96/24 for $17 there is no excuse for that price on a CD.

You do sound like the perfect candidate for the VIP tickets, because it was pretty exorbitant lol

I think I paid around $400 for front row. In my defense it was Tool, Melvin's, Primus, Clutch, and Fantomas (vocalist of Faith no More).

I'd do that much. They're coming to Detroit, on sale 9/6, IIRC!

9/6 at 10am local time. It'll be you vs the bots, so get your clicking finger ready!

I can just see it, I'm at work in a meeting, not paying attention, clicking on the keyboard, then cussing out loud if I didn't get in! :)

Wait - I'm the fool that scheduled that meeting! Doh! :)

So, I dispatched my son (currently living at home) to try and score some tickets! On ticketmaster:

I feel like this is marketing wording. 3 bonus tracks (aka what's streaming) = several in marketing terms. Just like they said "limited pre-sale tickets for Tool Army members" and last second said "limited VIP tickets". A ton of people singed up and paid for the Tool Army hoping to get regular tickets early, only to find out it was limited to tickets with a $500 price tag.

I would be very surprised if they suddenly did a "more" deluxe version with extra downloads than the already deluxe version.

I also standby my initial impression that the "extra" songs add nothing to the album. The CD has a better flow to me.

I secured 2 tickets this morning for the Chicago show at the United Center. The only downside is that Ticketmaster's "convenience" fee(s) is outrageous.

  • Secured tickets for the San Antonio show. Honestly, I might still sell them later. The $38.50 per ticket in fees is pretty offensive, and really pushed this well beyond the budget I was planning.

Some still do. It depends on the artist(s). We got tickets to see Too Many Zooz and, later, X Ambassadors - both were very reasonable.

almost 80.00 in convenience fees is ROBBERY... Last concert I went to was Kid Rock and total cost was just that 80.00. I cannot afford a 300/500 concert that is crazy. I'm just guesstimating that the tickets were above 100.00ea.

Yep. So my son logged on to Ticketmaster about 10 minutes prior to the release, and there were already 700+ accounts logged on. Not sure how many of those were bots, but almost exactly at the time of release the main floor was sold out!

After a few attempts to get main floor, he opted for best available. And he scored some balcony tickets!

For me, I'm very happy. Father/Son moment coming, kind of a reminder to me, smile, as it was he that introduced me to Tool! I went to a Tool concert with him, first time, not even familiar with the band at that time! Good memories.

Been a fan ever since! :)

Nope. Seats at the United Center, Chicago, Illinois:

    $95 for section 100 + $30 fee.

    300 section - nosebleed / up in the rafters - $75 + $30 fee.

I’d guess that the 200 level seats were $85 or $90. Floor seats may have been $100?
