  • My old man had a Samsonite just like that
  • I have that exact Samsonite suitcase, same color, wheels and all. I'll donate it. You guys build it and let me know! :D

Dropped from a plane too. :D

I just looked for it and couldn't find it. :/
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

  • Drew, those H&K receivers are no joke. I had one briefly, it had a distortion problem on start up but once she warmed up she sounded wonderful. I couldn't stand the distortion though and I returned it. I'd bet money the tape and turntable are nice as well. If you are looking for an affordable vintage receiver that is fairly pretty, grab it. :)
Plus it comes with Monitor 7s, and $325 is a deal in my book.

Well it's $350 but I could probably talk him down to $325. And I agree, I would love to play with this as a second system, but I literally have no where to put it. I bet it would be a lot of fun to listen to though.
  • LOL on that suitcase...

my buddies and I have a set of "buckets" we use when camping, 5 gal buckets stuffed with poly and then drivers secured to a piece of plywood stuffed inside the opening. All sealed up tight with caulk.

In the middle of the woods, hooked up to a car stereo & amp inside an old toolbox, on a set of rotating car batteries, it's surprisingly loud, and surprisingly balanced sounding. We string rope and hang em from trees to get the proper toe-in aimed at the seats around the camp fire.

    Good times.

@FestYboy , I think you were on the hunt for a pair of Monitor 12s.

    https://delaware.craigslist.org/ele/d/wilmington-vintage-polk-monitor-12/6835170433.html

Probably not a deal, but I have interacted with this seller before & he is usually negotiable.

I've bought from him as well, NAD C320BEE last time I was down there.

You're right on both counts, not a deal, but negotiable.

  • I have one actually. The cassette deck needs some work on mine but that Panasonic actually sounds darn good for a boombox.

  • You are not going to buy the pin/blade cable on eBay for $25. The last one I watched went for $85 and it was after market RCA with outside ground petals ground off.
