Thought I’d let you all know, when I used Google Chrome on my iPad to switch to computer mode, it worked. Didn’t change anything because it’s laid out the same on iPads and computers, so I switched back, and now when I hit the back arrow, it refreshes the page. Thought some of you would find that useful to know. :)

Having to refresh my browser EVERY [.......] TIME I go back to the Recent Discussions page is tiresome and UNACCEPTABLE.

It used to work fine, and they did something and now it's broken? If it aint broke, don't fix it.

Sorry Clip, but it has never worked “fine”... it has been garbage from day one.

Oh I just specifically meant what @mdaudioguy was describing, where you click back and the Recent Discussion page would have automatically refreshed, versus how you have to manually refresh it now to update the yellow new post image on the thread who's posts you just read.

I agree, vBulliten was better! I liked the layout how it used to be back when I joined in 2012.

Interesting, @mdaudioguy, I just tried to replicate the refresh issue in Microsoft Edge, and it refreshes automatically as it used to.

So it seems the issue is related to FF and maybe Chrome.

Nope it's more than that. I do not use either of those on mobil. I have not been able to go full site for weeks.
Armorfly is my browser. This only happens on this site no other site on the internet gives me problems.

I really dislike Vanilla, but it works okay on the iPad, especially the older models. The newer iPad refreshes the page after returning to it, except at first the page looked as before (thread with red showing unread posts), but then updates to no red. That is annoying.

I think he has taken Timothy Leary up on his advice... he has dropped out. Surprised he has allowed the Health Insurance thread to remain unscathed.

As soon as "F1nut" let me know about the issue I contacted Vanilla and their rep, Val, responded. She later let me know that other clients reported the same kind of problem and that they would sort it out. I asked for an update on Thursday and haven't received a reply. If I do I'll be sure and forward it.

    Thanks @KennethSwauger
Believe it or not, we're not just bustin' the forum's chops -- I would like to think that the forum (even with us on it ;) ) is an important tool for the company, both in terms of PR and as a platform for "peer support". I also imagine that the current key demographic for Polk is pretty mobile-intensive, so this probably isn't a trivial issue.

Now, for me and my Heathkit analog computer and oscilloscope interface, this isn't a problem, of course -- but I am thinking of others here. :p

Same here because the mobile site is flat out horrible.

That it is. I'm pretty sure a company Polk's size has someone dedicated to software support. Maybe they cut some corners and software support is now also Human services, mail delivery, and janitorial. Ya never know... :)

That or they hired a member that used to post and had lots of issues using carrier services.

I received a response from Val saying that Vanilla was working to solve the problem. She was heading to a staff meeting and that if there was anything to share she would let me know. Sorry folks that's all I know.

Ed Zachary and it will not automatically refresh on the mobile or full site on a computer.

    Yep, still broken.

Yikes! Now that there is no mod, there is no way to get Vanilla to fix anything.
