Wow, that was just bad form by MQA.

Well I can see their point. Someone was calling their baby ugly and they a have a big cash cow to protect. Also while the presenter may have had some valid points did not seem the most knowledgeable or articulate. And he should have disclosed his source.

Why disclose his source? I would say he shouldn't have presented if anything.
He did a poor job, but MQA is a sham.

Thinking about it, it will startup some speciality studios and MOFI can
    release un-MQA'd CD's.

He had a white cane. It's visible closer to the end. (33:55)

To add credibility to his case. And give MQA a fair chance to refute(deny) the results.
    but MQA is a sham.
It is certainly one of the most divisive audio subjects I can remember.

They have had any number of chances to refute the naysayers.
They can't. Sometimes things are exactly what they look and sound like.
Anyway. I've got my 100 posts.

In that case, sell me a Parasound A21 or a nice McIntosh tube amp. My budget is $300, it must include shipping and insurance to Vermont, and I demand a review of each unit before I decide which one I want.

I've seen that blind guy with the cane at both RMAF last year and this year at Axpona this year. I wonder who he is?

While i can agree he should of, what if the info is actually coming from an MQA employee?

The presenter sure didn't have his stuff together. I wished i could hear what was being said we couldn't hear.

Seemed bloody obvious to me that MQA were trying to use a deflection tactic instead of refuting the results because they can't. This is further evident by the fact they refused to wait until the presentation was finished as the presenter requested for any discussion. They are nothing more than desperate thugs.

  • So not lossless and not what the artist intended, but it sounds good is what I gathered from that shat show.

Might be fun to listen to at times but knowing that, I am going to want know what the original sounded like then compare, then be stuck overthinking which I should be listening to. I don’t need all that stress to muck up my good time. I’ll just stick to the real lossless version and leave well enough alone.
Oh, Listen here mister. We got no way of understandin' this world. But we got as much sense of this bird flyin in the sky. Now there is a lot that bird don't know, but it don't change the fact that the world is happening to him all the same. The Hit Squad...minus Bob Stuart in the room but including the marketing and sales folks...

I think the MQA team was at the event to do their own seminars and were invited to attend the Computeraudiophile one. This one turned out to be sort of like a heated internet forum debate that leads nowhere, only this was live action nerdy.

MQA can just as easily refute or deny the results with out having any knowledge of the source. IF MQA had a rebuttal, other than trying to discredit the messenger and source, they should have done just that. Knowing the source only gives them someone else to personally attack. Sounds a lot like modern politics. Disgusting!

Exactly. They were trying to find out who else to attack. Or possibly discredit in some other way. There is potentially a lot of money riding on this if it gets adopted. These clowns would probably stoop pretty low to: 1. Ensure their investments. 2. Ensure their futures. (Or their children's futures....or, judging from the looks of them, their current grandchildren's futures too.)

They certainly had an in your face Kamala Harris type of approach. :o:) No doubt they will do their best to protect their baby given the potential huge financial gain.

    ...

Well -- given all of the remixing and remastering that goes on with "classic" recordings these days, "not what the artist intended" seems like a pretty minor issue in 2018. :(
