No Children of Nuggets here either. Just the original 4 cd box. I'm probably too old for that newer stuff, but I'll keep my eyes open if I see it reasonably priced. :)

So you inspired me to play the instrumental tracks again, a little louder, ahem, much louder, and busted! The Mrs came down and gave me the look. Had to shut er down!
I can say, that VTL pre handles metal quite nicely!

Why does she care how loud you play when you're in the basement? Is it bothering her somehow or overpowering what she is trying to listen to/watch upstairs?

I'm honestly just wondering about this, because in my opinion one of the best things about owning your own home is being able to play music at whatever volume you want to without bothering your neighbors. So I don't understand why you have to turn it down.

The bass rattles everything upstairs  Those little  1C’s can kick it! Wait til I get the SRS’s hooked up with the 15” PR! She may reconsider her support!

Of course cranking the stereo in the basement will be heard throughout the house. That’s the problem. Duh. :)

I’m not allowed to turn up my system loud enough for people in the rest of the house to hear more than back ground music. Being upstairs, in a echo-y house, in which I can hear people downstairs talking quietly, it’s not loud. Usually 65ish DB.
Then of course, when I’m home alone, you’ve got the 95+ DB peaks when playing DSOTM. :)
    Micah
If you're reading this, I've put up devices for a week; maybe more. I'll talk you guys later!
I've always thought the goal of high-end audio was not to have your neighbors bang on the wall and say, 'Turn that darn music down' but to have your neighbors bang on the wall and say, 'Tell your friends to go home and you can practice later this week'.
