    Why does she care how loud you play when you're in the basement? Is it bothering her somehow or overpowering what she is trying to listen to/watch upstairs?

    I'm honestly just wondering about this, because in my opinion one of the best things about owning your own home is being able to play music at whatever volume you want to without bothering your neighbors. So I don't understand why you have to turn it down.

    I’m not allowed to turn up my system loud enough for people in the rest of the house to hear more than back ground music. Being upstairs, in a echo-y house, in which I can hear people downstairs talking quietly, it’s not loud. Usually 65ish DB.
    Then of course, when I’m home alone, you’ve got the 95+ DB peaks when playing DSOTM. :)
