All 3 of these are characteristics of the 198s.
While electronically similar i would not say the RD-0198 is the same as the SL3000.
The RD-0198 is the better tweeter.

I was saying that those 3 physical characteristics are there on the 0198, but not on the SL3000s. So it is likely that the middle tweeter is not a SL3000 with a different "color variation" (as agfrost suggested) than the other two in the same cabinet, but a 0198 instead.

    gotcha :D

Right it is definitely an RD-0XX hopefully not RD-0194

These babies are still up for sale. Tempting, as I'll be taking a road trip to Chicago for thanksgiving. In the meantime I could have a buddy of mine pick em up until then. Still 8 hundie. They look minty.

So... What's the story with your 1C's??? You tired them? Finish restoring them yet?

Hehe. No. On hold for now. Once the home projects slow down, I hope to resume working on them. I appreciate the nudge brother!

See these 2 SDA SRS2.3 in 2 different adds. What is the difference between them? 1 has 'weird' mid-woofers at top & bottom, while the other is normal looking. mxitmx9otwt0.jpg
    2t1v9frshlje.jpg

    @scottfox, Like @krazypolk said earlier (2.3 versus 2.3TL).
The non-TL version has the weird "donut" drivers (I have a pair of these myself), while the regular looking ones are TL's.
The lack of donut drivers but the fact they have SL3000 vs. the SL2000 tweeters is the other tell tail sign......

Looks like these are sold. Someone from Indy was gonna look at em today, was supposed to get a call back if they were still for sale. Nothing.

Any Indiana Polkies care to confess?

Seems a bit high, but I'm going off the prices of the other Monitors. Don't know too much about this specific one.
  • I'd say that's definitely high for those 12's.

I though they looked familiar. Chances are the high bidder never paid and they just relisted them
  • That sounds feasible.

Doesn’t seem like a common thing on Polk’s, stored well I guess.
Or are you implying that someone removed the fuse to make people think that it isn’t broken?

Monitor 10Bs with receiver and CD player. Philadelphia. $125
    https://philadelphia.craigslist.org/ele/d/polk-floor-speakers-with/6705519206.html

One tweeter looks to be shot but $125 for an instant garage rig sounds like a deal.

Do it Dave... if you have a BIG room for them to breathe their magic in. Also if you do, that seller should knock a lot of $ off for what you'll have to do to travel that far. Maybe 200.00 off? ;)

I drove 2-1/2 hrs. one way for my newest Turntable. It was a beautiful day trip for us too. The Lady knocked 50.00 off the 250.00 price. :)
