We lived in Mattoon when I was a kid. An hour down the road from Champaign/Urbana. They had southern accents.

    What's wrong with that? ;)

Who said there was anything wrong with that? Just stating the facts. I simply always found it notable that Central Illinois would have a southern accent. And when we lived there they considered themselves part of the south. ;)

We are part of the south...
    Proud of it! :)

    ...not even close.

@WLDock that ML Depth I is a very musical sub. Not sure how good the price is since the sub is over 10 years old now.

Anyone interested in some neat old 8-Track units? One's a Pilot Quad. No Affil. They look in great shape. For your museum, if you're a hoarder (like me)! :) https://omaha.craigslist.org/ele/d/five-8-track-players-one-is/6640472191.html

This would be a good deal if you could place a single bid right before it ends for $250

YES! The music system I vision for my living room included some large DIY bookies with SB Acoustics Satori drivers, RAAL ribbon tweets driven by a hybrid integrated. The low end supported by a nice SQ sub like the KEF R400b, Rythmik F12, or something rare like the MartinLogan Depth. The Depth gets great feedback. It would all come down to price. At $2195 retail, $900 is better but still a lot given the age. I've seen the original, even older Depth (Not the later 'i' version) in the $350-$500 range.

I'm guessing by the condition of the tweeter's dome that it would need to be replaced?

That very small dent may pull out easily with masking tape. Or just leave it alone, you should not hear any compromised sound due to it! Peerless tweeters are available, if you're one that needs everything perfect (not a usually a bad thing) then replace it. Great speakers, buy them. My brother owns the same model. It's one of the few in that series I haven't owned. Let us know how they sound.

If I got them, I'd want to put in new tweeters, new crossovers, etc.

Mmm - not so fast - those look like peerless? I'd keep em, they are very smooth and a nice sounding tweet IMO. And FWIW - I had a set of 5's, very nice indeed, and ridiculous for that low amount of coinage.

I haven't had my ears on it but from what I've read and been told it should be excellent. Especially if it has a similar sound signature as my MF A5 integrated. Like i said, if i wouldve had an easy way to get it to MD I woulda gave it a shot.

Better actually. @F1nut will heartily agree I am sure.

There are only 3 pieces of gear I regret getting rid of and one was a Musical Fidelity amp.

Really? I thought you were B) with the "all tube" audio setup.

I guess we have several things in common Kerry  However, I'll not let it go again. ;)

Outta my league, but if I had the $2k I'd get the Watt Puppies.
