It's really a high price. Even if they're mint. They don't have the new tweeters yet. That would take the price above 1,100.00.
SRS2's are NICE but time is on your side isn't it. There's bound to be a cheaper pair that will pop up in your future for 500 or so in great cond..
Thanks for the advice @Tony M. Still have yet to finish the 1C mod that started me on this rabbit hole, ahem, journey.
Anyone know how the SRS2's (assume stock), compare to a fully modded set of 1C's?
I've owned them both but not a fully moded 1C's, nor moded SRS2's. I think I had a bass lacking amp hooked up to the 1C's and let them go. I thought the SRS2's had twice the bass but I think I'm wrong now.
One of my life regrets is letting those 1C's go. I regreted letting my first pair of SRS2's go and bought the first pair that came up for sale near me a year later. I had put RDO-194's in my first pair of SRS2's and grew to like the softer sound. I think the new tweeters sounded better and better after time though!
But still, that price in the ad...Ouch.
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.
425 was my ceiling, they went north of that. Not too optimistic.
The re-listing was changed to $1200 BIN then deleted for an error in the listing. If these ever pop up again you'd have to have a screw loose to bid on them. Starting to think they never existed.

I contacted the seller after he relisted them. Said that the high bidder flaked. I asked if he was interested in selling them now, he said yes. He wanted $700. I negotiated him down to $500.
I drove up from Mission Viejo to Northridge (82 miles) this morning and arrived at noon to pick them up. He greeted me in his garage, where sat his brand new Corvette Grand Sport. Nice car!
He was the original owner of the SDA-SRS-2s, having purchased them new from Shelley's Stereo in LA in 1987. They were only moved once (locally) in 31 years. And when he listed them as MINT, he meant it! They are pristine. The walnut is BEAUTIFUL throughout. He had the IC, but wasn't able to find the owners manuals.
He helped me load them into my SDA-SRS-Hauler (my '06 Prius ) and I was headed back down the 405 South in less than 30 minutes after arriving.
My son helped me unload them and we set them up in the living room. I have to say that I was VERY surprised with the bass response. For only 2 stereo mid-drivers and a PR, they produce INCREDIBLE bass.
I am very pleased with this addition to the stable. The only SDA model I am missing now is the SDA-SRS-3.1TL.
The hunt continues!

I love your collection of Polks. I have a lot of the lower priced versions of Polks.
I'd like to hear your comparisons of those SRS2's to the bigger models you own.

These are early serial numbers (SDA-SRS-2 685, and SDA-SRS-2 691), with Blade/Blade IC, so I am assuming 3rd gen SDA, and hence the 4 ohm versions. I need to pull the drivers to be certain.
It would take an afternoon to get to the backs of mine right now. I'll get them to you as soon as I can. The left speaker would be even harder to get to the back. This is the right one. A little has changed by me adding some more things in front the past year.
