They shouldn't have lasted 10 minutes!

Why are they soooo far away? :'(:s

I'd find room for those babies for sure! ;)

For sure. I'm watching them, but not really to buy. Just curious as to the final bid. Those SDA1s in Valencia are still there. Not sure why. Looks like a fair price on a set of speakers in terrific shape.

    Market saturation perhaps ...

Arrived today. Very early version of these. Consecutive serials. Peerless domes are flawless, plates the smooth and shiny kind. Cabinets a little munched on but these are my second pair - bought mainly for the innards anyway. Looking forward to cracking them open this weekend.

I jumped in as always wanted a set of SDAs. Currently the high bid. Hope I'm not bidding against a Polkie brother!

North Hollywood? You could go pick up the speakers and then head to The Troubadour to see The Mentors play. B)

Are you referring to that speaker or my date back in the 80s? :p

    Dare I say, both? :#

I suspect the vinyl veneer was made with calendared material instead of cast. Cast wouldn't shrink like that, maybe 1-2% at most, especially given the environment it was intended for. Calendared, on the other hand, can reduce well beyond 25% given enough time and heat.
