    LAST BUMP.

So everyones on the same page and just to make it easier on everyone I've typed up some info below worth skimming.

If your thinking about coming and haven't let me know, please do so. If you dont have my address let me know and I will add you to the group PM that has it listed as well as my contact information.

**Note** As of now my wifes and her families camping trip is still a go. If that changes, it may interfere with the meet. If that happens I will update this thread ASAP and send out a group message to let folks know what we are doing.

    General Information:

House opens at noon. Come when you can, bring what you can . We will try to work in anything gear wise folks bring as best we can. I apologize in advance should we not get to everything folks bring.

I hope to have 2 different rooms setup, unfortunately they are close together so we may only be able to do audio in one while switching setup in another, or vice versa.

We will just have to play things by ear. If you have something you think folks would like to hear bring it. We can always set stuff up in the loft as a last resort.

    Food

I will have some snack foods and if/when folks get hungry for a actual meal we can order pizza from one of the many pizza places around. Throwing in a couple bucks on food would be appreciate but it not a prerequisite for gaining access to the house

    Drinks

I will have some 2 liters of Coke, Mountain Dew, and Dr Pepper to drink. Any other soda you want let me know, or bring it. These will be in the fridge for the duration and are open to everyone...

    Adult beverages

If you want something else adult beverage wise, bring it. For out of town folks, there is a Walmart off I-74 and State Road 267 that is fairly well stocked, and across the street from it is a Kroger, and there is also a 21st Amendment IIRC nearby as well. Additionally farther South on 267 as you get close to my house there is both a CVS and a Walgreens, and again both have a decent selection of liquors.

I will have a semi decent sized cooler we can load up with stuff that will be either in the kitchen or out back depending. Anything in the Ice Chest will be consider for the group. If you have something specifically just for you, let me know and we can put it in the freezer in the garage or cordon it off somewhere else.

    General House Rules and info:

-I would like to ask that shoes get removed at the entryway to keep the carpet as clean as possible.

-If a door is shut and not marked bathroom, dont open it without asking . I will have signs on all the bathroom doors so there is no confusion, as we want those doors shut when in use

-You are welcome to smoke, as long as its not inside. You can step out the front door, or out back if needed provided you can handle the dogs (next item)

-I have 3 medium sized dogs, 2 diff terrier mix's and a corgi. They will likely be outside for the duration of the meet baring weather, in which case they will be in their cages in the master bedroom. You are welcome to go outside and pet them if you want, just be warned they will want to sit in your lap or lick your face a lot, especially if you sit down. They haven't met someone they didnt like yet, up to and including @lightman1.

If you are not a dog person, just avoid outside, and if needing a smoke, step out front instead of out back, and you will be fine.

-If you have any specific needs or questions, please dont hesitate to ask me, either via
PM here, or when you arrive. I will do my best to facilitate those needs.

-Depending on how late folks are still here I am open to throwing together a small bondfire in the backyard around the firepit and will have a small supply of firewood on hand.

Thats all I can think off offhand. I look forward to a good time with good friends, both old and new, and some good tunes.

    Tagging those I know said they are coming: @oldrocker @lightman1 @deronb1 @indyhawg @trav0810 @concealer404 ....

And some who said they couldn't just in case things change: @erniejade @kharp1

And some of the other Chicago fellas just in case... @ALL212 @SCompRacer @tonyb

If you see this and your NOT on this list, your not bared from coming at all. I just may not have remembered your close....

Listen here, peckerwood! I saved the day by resetting a spiral plant stand in the front yard of his house. It kept falling over...now it won't.

Plus it's about 4' tall... I can stand behind it and the neighbours will be none the wiser.... B)

thanks for the invite though - keep me posted of others.

It's only about a 3 hour drive... or 30 minutes, a couple hundred dollar ticket, and 3 points on your license if you drive like Kerry.

    Fixed that for ya

I wish it would have worked out for me, but, things here at work are crazy with several people out on medical and us already down a couple of electricians to start. Hopefully we'll be able to get together soon as there seems to be a decent amount of people within the 2-3 hour circle around Indy.

    Yep it was a BLAST!!!
Cool toys, sweet sounds and enough bass to shake your teeth.
Even got a nod of approval on my 40+year old B&W's.

Yessiree... another good time get together!
Good to see Dave, Jeff and Dan again. Glad to finally meet my arch nemesis Ivan. And Deron brought some nice toys as well. We should do it again in the future.
Daves barn find B&W speakers were a big suprise as well. Smooth as silk and easy on the ears.
He wouldn't sell them to me, though.

And Russ what can i say brother.... you's the shite great to finally meet you.

That soundbar Deron brought was the biggest surprise for me. WOW

Was a long day, that sure didnt feel like it. We started around 11:45 and shut it down around midnight.......

We had 2 systems running and we moved stuff between them all.

    Dining room:

This was the much smaller compromised setup and consisted of the following:

Xbox 360 running PLEX -> monoprice Optical -> Cambridge Audio SR20 -> @helipilotdoug Douglas Connection Furez 10/2 with generic spades and bananas & Blue Jeans Cable LC-1 sub cable

We had some 22" Sanus Ultimate stands that I had previously filled with sand. We also had a Outlaw Audio LFM-1 sub on a isolation base which we had crossed around 120hz and at a gain of 6. We added or removed it as needed.

    HT room:

Xbox One running PLEX -> Audioquest Cinnamon HDMI -> Denon X4100 -> Kimber Kable Hero RCA -> B&K 200.5 -> Kimber Kable 8VS internally biwired

We also had dual subs on demand that were connected as follows: Blue Jeans Cable LC-1 -> Custom MiniDSP 2x4 balanced unit -> Wireworld Eclipse 6 XLR -> 2 Bridged XLS2000 -> Furez 14/2 speaker wire -> 1 4 x 12" sub and 1 18" sub

We played around with the following items
    VINTAGE B&W @oldrocker
    B&W CMT @deronb1
    Polk Woodborne @deronb1
    Polk LSiM 703 @deronb
    Usher V601 @Endersshadow
    LSi 15 @Endersshadow

Deron @deronb1 showed up around 11:45 and we played around till Dave @oldrocker , and then Russ @lightman1 showed up.

We blew it up for a couple hours then Ivan @pitdogg2 and then Jeff @indyhawg and then Ivan showed and we went into crazy mode. Dave had to leave before either Jeff arrived unfortunately, but thankfully I believe got to listen to all the different speakers including the LSiM 703’s.

We listened to Dave’s B&W's that were SHOCKINGLY GOOD in my small room off the Cambridge SR20 pulled out WAAY father from the wall than I'd have liked (but we didn't have any choice). They didn’t really “need” a sub at all and sounded great just by themselves.

We threw Deron's B&W (somethings) on the same stands and while they sounded good, I liked Dave's old B&W's better. Once we added in my sub they were better for sure and the sub blended in about as easy as any I've ever had to integrate.

We also played around with the Polk Woodborne and I was SHOCKED at how wide a soundstage it put out considering its size. We put it in my HT on top the LSiC and ran PLEX off my phone to it via blutooth and it sounded GREAT. Extension was SURPRISINGLY low given its small size and driver compliment. It had a 3.5mm input, Ethernet, Wireless, blutooth and optical. It also decodes Dobly so we played a movie through it and for a small bedroom IMHO it’s a MUCH prettier option than a soundbar. Its ONLY downfall is the lack of a sub out, but for many folks who want just a soundbar, I’d suggest this OVER that all day long. Oh and its beautiful.

I think Dave is gonna end up buying one for his pool setup if he can sneak it past his wife .

The Ushers sounded GREAT in my main room, but couldn’t take as much wattage as the other speakers but man I just LOVE their top end and mids and the gave those out in spades. Some of the more haunting of my music (euro rock bands such as Nightwish, Within Temptation and some others) just gave me goosebumps and reminded me why I love them so much.

The B&W’s Deron brought were FAST speakers handling Dragonforce’s Through the Fire and the Flames like a champ keeping up with the bass easily, and the Outlaw LFM-1 was just as good. The larger subs struggled to provide as much separation between notes for that same song, but its likely due to the large amount of driver that has to be moved so it’s a bit slower to respond.

The LSiM 703’s were also MUCH better than I’d remembered. I’m curious now to try and get a set of 705’s in my room to compare to my LSi 15’s, but I keep thinking about going a totally different direction in my HT…..

For me one of the nice things was using a APP to have liquor DELIVERED TO US. No need to drive, we picked what we wanted, paid and BAM it arrived, and it was even fairly cold. Deron also brought some local stuff for us to try and I think Russ was a fan. I stuck to my normal Angry Orchard stuff.

We also ordered pizza from a local joint called Panooney’s and I think it was a hit with folks, or at least no one complained at about it lol.

It was a blast listening to some speakers I would not normally get to listen to, and at the end I was left with a different opinion on the LSiM 703’s than I had before (though they still wont work in my HT unless I get the larger ones), and a HUGE respect for the Woodborne.

All in all despite my best efforts, I failed to either blow any eardrums, or wake my youngest up after she went down around 8:00. Although I gotta admit I think I did a good job sending off Ivan with "Weapons of Mass Distortion" by Crystal Method at about 80 on the volume (the loudest I've ever gone). We were shaking most of the stuff around the house, and then I threw on the Japanese drums of movie "The Great Wall" with Matt Damon
