It might be a real ad put up by some fool who is either too lazy to take his own pics or has a pair of beaters he is misrepresenting. Regardless it's dishonest (and lame).

There was a guy on eBay a few months ago using pictures of some pristine RT3000p's I had posted on this forum. I called him out and he got all pizzed-off as-if I was out of line for objecting to him using my photos to sell his garbage.

It always amazes me how some people can be so destructive with their awesome Polk speakers. These were beautiful when they were new.

It's like the SRTs that were for sale last year that looked like they had been sitting out in someone's backyard for the past 20 years. All they needed was a vise bolted on one end and they would have made nice $10,000 work benches.

80 miles is stopping you, really.

Does it have to be within walking distance before it becomes worth the trip or what?

    80 miles is nothing.

I'd drive a lot farther than that (and have numerous times before) to get audio gear. I would also rather drive a lot farther than have something like these shipped.

Good God, can you imagine how much it would cost to replace all those tubes when they started dying or just tube rolling? At $100 a pair it looks like $2,000 at least.

Yes. I was a day late and was responding to the post about the Monitor 11T's in Lancaster. I have a motorcycle and an electric car with 100 miles of range, neither of which is a good option to go pick up these speakers. I generally rent a car when I need to go further, which is a a tradeoff I accepted to be able to drive in the express lanes at all times with my vehicles. That raised the cost and hassle.

And I have no regrets with the vehicle choice. The express lanes keep me sane, which is worth missing out on picking up more speakers.

Not really. I have scored some junk and some great treasures at good prices. It all depends. Some offer seven day returns. I bought an iPod classic 160 gb for $30 and added a one year warranty for two bucks more. A lot of them do sell crappy junk. Deals can be found there sometimes. Peace. D

Saw these offered for sale locally. Does anybody have personal experience with this model. Priced at 500 bucks not really sure if they are worth the asking price.

Monitor 10A with Peerless (I think) for $120. Cabinets might need some TLC though, not horrible and the covers look okay in the only photo of them.

SDA CRS, pair of Polk surround speakers, center channel and a very pretty Infinity subwoofer for only $250. The CRS speakers and the sub look very nice, the surrounds and center have seen some better days.
