    2) So, I'm a little confused -- is Hilfiger's plane the bizjet, or does he fly Southwest?

    I enjoy these shots very much. I love airports and spent much time at Friendship/BWI as a kid just watching planes come and go with my father (who was working on a private pilot's license* at the time). Got to fly with my ol' man, too, a few times... a long time ago.

    * Which he never finished getting, by the way. I think it was just too expensive for my parents at the time.

    Me too! I flew into the DC Metro area frequently from the early 80's to mid-90's. That was my airport of choice. After moving to that region in 1997, I still preferred it over National or Dulles. The arrival of Southwest's hub transformed it drastically. I used to park in the lot partly pictured in the right foreground when I flew out. Those were the days.

    When my mother was sick in the late 1990s, there were a zillion (cheap) SW flights per day from Manchester, NH (MHT) to BWI. It was very handy.

    Gas prices've been low here; creepin' up now -- ostensibly 'cause they're reformulating for warm weather. Funnily enough, when they reformulate for cold weather in the fall... the price goes up, too.
