Who wants to go get them for me until I can figure a way to get them to SC?
Thats some unusual damage on one of the mid drivers.
Yea I figure I'll replace the driver. He's willing to ship them to me. About $32 each for shipping.

Me too, but I'm curious. The seller will have to post more pictures.

I see that he has several Onkyo electronics still sealed in the boxes. Hmmmm. He offers to open the boxes when the buyer picks shows up to pick up the speakers, and will cancel if damaged. (Is there a physicist in the house that can explain to someone with a minimum-math-and-science journalism degree whether the "observer effect" in quantum mechanics applies here?)

I love that 'show respect. Do not drop' copy on the boxes

Would these be 1C's?
Looks like a transitional model 1C. Has what looks like a blade/blade IC connector. It may also have modified 1B crossovers, instead of the 4th generation 1C crossover.Home Theater/2 Channel:

Thanks for posting these. I've been wanting to hear a set to compare to my Monitor 5's. I was going to look at them last night, but work interfered -- even paying bills trumps speakers... sometimes. ;-)
I talked with the guy though, and said I'd be able to go tonight. I'm hoping he hung onto them for me. -
So I ended up getting the Monitor 7's (above). Great sounding speakers for the price! The cabinets are a little scratched, but the drivers are in immaculate condition.
As if I needed another set of speakers.... ;-) hahaha -

You dont have ALL the vintage models of the Monitor/SDA/RTA/SRT lines yet?
If so then you aren't yet done

You guys are crazy! 3 pairs is enough for me. If anything else comes in something is also leaving. Except the Peerless Monitor 4's - just because of their rarity.afterburnt wrote: »They didn't speak a word of English, they were from South Carolina.
