The good news is that I have the PC12-NSD since 2012 and its a great Sub for movies and TV.

The bad news is that I started to have problems with it. It would get louder on its own and I could not turn it down by using the gain or even the AVR bass level! :s

Now the even better news is I got ahold of SVS and they are sending me a new Sledge STA-400D amp. All shipping of the new and old unit is free. They also send you the complete instructions on how to replace the amp.

So I just want to say that not only are their Sub's great their service is top notch too! B)

Yes SVS CS is the defacto standard of CS along with Polk's of course... When I was making my decision SVS's reputation for CS clinched it for me.

BTW been listening to this thing for hours now and it indeed the ****!

Indeed. When I first got mine, from a fellow Polkie, the user manual was incomplete. I emailed Customer Service on a Sunday, and got a reply from the owner within an hour. Can't beat that.

    3. Don't know why i bothered with my other subs.

That says it all and I agree.

The back-mounted display is a common complaint and I feel no differently. You need a mirror and the ability to read backwards when trying to adjust the settings. Oh well, once they are set, you never need to access it and another bright blue light in a dark home theater would be annoying.

    Glad you're enjoying it!

    Got 2 myself...

A PC12-NSD I got just before they transitioned to the new cylinder models last year.
    And a 20-39 PC-Plus I have had for a while now.
Combined they produce some amazing LFE effects.

I've owned many SVS subs. Cylinders, boxes, etc.

I am now running a pair of PB12/ Plus2's in my HT. SVS quit making them a few years ago.....they are enormous, and I understand why most folks won't accept a big, black end table in their living rooms. I probably wouldn't either, but mine are in a dedicated home theater, so it's not an issue.

Twin 12" drivers in each one. Since lower tuning sacrifices output somewhat, in my setup, one unit is tuned (plugged) for 15 Hz, the other unit for 20Hz. The pair I have included the built-in EQ, so I guess they were the "Ultra" versions. I don't use the EQ, though. I owned a SMS-1 for a long while, and was able to move them around and tune them for a fairly flat response curve. Now, my Onkyo PR SC5507 will control and tune them individually with Audyssey, so the SMS-1 isn't needed.

The only real trick with my setup was to figure out how to blend them with the built-in subs in my RT3000p mains and CS1000p center. Audyssey helps a lot here, as well.

While they never work very hard, it's always fun to run subharmonic test tones and watch stuff bounce around upstairs...with no noise. Looks like an earthquake.

Late again, but I'm still using a PB13U in Rosenut (not cherry)...one of the first off the line in 2007. No Sledge amp...on my 2nd Bash, but hey no worries. Used to serve an area of about 2000 cube...now I'm in an open floor plan that's probably over 10k...doesn't matter...I'm older now and don't need 16hz at 115db.

Bought the PB-2000 not to long after it was released. Best damn sub I have ever had. To be honest it is only the second sub I have ever had. lol. Music, Movies no matter what I throw at it, it handles it, no problems at all!

Just bought my 5th svs. Having 2 sealed ultras, and trading up to to ported ones. I now have a wee little sb1000 for the living room system. Needed something small, that I can hide away. I only set it up quickly tonight but seems to blend seamlessly with my towers. I can't believe the bass that comes out of this tiny cube.

My only gripe with their dual driver design is that it is like old Christmas lights; when one driver went bad, the other one didn't work either. So for about a week I had no LFE at all :'(

So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?

My PB-2000 is great. I will get a second one, one day for the main room. The PB-1000 is more than enough for the bedroom.

I got those Soundpath isolation feet for my PB1000s..noticable change..even on carpeted flooring. Decided to give a try since my homemade ones didnt really work. Bass has more definition in music, and in movies I feel it more in my chest now than anything...while the pic frames on the walls remain silent. These feet work :).

I had a pair of these thrown in for my sb1000, which sits on hardwood for my 2 channel system. I absolutely love them. The bass doesn't carry over to the neighbors house. And is very tight and precise. Doesn't seem to rattle the tt either. Highly recommend them. Nice quality as expected.

Mine are on carpet and do nicely there, the feet even though six are required seem underrated for a giant pb 13 ultra. the only thing I see making a small difference under those giants are some auralex sub dudes.

I wouldnt think the PB13 ultras would even need the feet. At roughly 150lbs, I figure their solid "tank" like build wouldnt produce much vibration...

Thanks for the comments on the feet. SVS CS told me I wouldn't need the feet with the 13 Ultra's on carpet but I have wondered whether they would make a difference. They are tanks and don't vibrate even at high volumes.

Hey I still have time to trade up my PB2000. Does anyone think it would be better to have one higher end SVS or a second PB2000?

Depends on the room, but generally speaking one higher end is better. It will do things that two lesser subs combined cannot do...
Living Room 2.2: Usher BE-718 "tiny dancers"; Dual DIY Dayton audio RSS210HF-4 Subs with Dayton SPA-250 amps; Arcam SA30; Musical Fidelity A308; Sony UBP-x1000es; Squeezebox Touch with Bolder Power Supply

I cannot comment on the particular subs as I don't have experience with them but one higher end my preference. You might get slightly higher output with two (or not) but most of the time the higher ends output is, well, higher end. You'd probably tighter, less boomy bass out of it. Especially if the system is used for music I would lean towards a higher end model. Plus your upgrade path next time is easier...
