Given that I still have 'em (since 1978)... heck yes.

    Hand sown, home grown ;-)

Further, I remember the first time I heard a pair... in 1976. Liked 'em then, like 'em now.

    They're inside now ;-)

I took that photo on a whim when I moved 'em up to NH last July... seemed oddly appropriate (to my warped sensibilities, at least).

We do have a nice view (if I do say so myself), but I don't really have much of one from the new hifi room. That's OK, though, I go up there to listen not to look.

My first set of Polk's were Monitor 10's I pick up locally about 4 years ago. That started this crazy journey and though they have since found a new home, I have an older pair of 10's with peerless in storage waiting for a refresh when time allows.

Mine were 10's. I bought them with the money I earned while teaching Dyslexic students during the summer of 1988 IIRC. Still have them. They currently are my mains in my theatre system. Well the start of one.

The first time I ever heard a set of Polks was in a Sam Goody in NYC. I believe they were Monitor 5 juniors with the SL2000 tweeter. I had no idea what Polk was before that!

I first heard them (Monitor Series model 7A) at Soundscape in Baltimore (Polk's first dealer) - the amplification was Yamaha. The record player was a Philips GA-212, most likely equipped with a Sonus cartridge. The record was The David Grisman Quintet; a record that was and still is the perfect choice to show off the best aspects of that early Polk Monitor Series.

First time I heard Polks was at BB not too long ago (maybe 2009). Wife and I bought our first house together and she said we had to get rid of the college MTX's that I had.

We went to best buy looking at bookshelf speakers, and the moment he turned on some Polk floorstanders I was hooked. (don't even know what model they were, but they were about the size of monitor 50's)

A few months later I ordered some Monitor 70's off Amazon thinking they were probably the same speakers, and whoa...they were big.

That is how it all started...wen't shopping for some small bookies and ended up with some huge floorstanders. It has snowballed from there, but luckilly I still have the speakers AND the wife

I listen to them for years at the shops but the current speaks in my sig are the first Polk home speakers that I have owned.

As far as the car, I played around with some of their MM / Mobile Monitors component sets and 6x9's for a short spell.

I was going to say that my RTA11TL's were my first Polks but WLDock reminded me that it started with the old Mobile Monitor series MM3a and MM65xx. I still have them in a box in the basement.

all you old timers with your tearful stories of buying classics, and here i sit, my first polk was a Psw 110 bought on sale and open box, because the store wouldnt get more in and didnt want the display anymore. payed almost US retail for the dared thing, but couldnt be happier with it. it does everything i need it to(although sometimes not as much as i would like) in my tiny barracks room. i payed 159 euro in october of last year, for the dual voltage(with removable cord) cherry finish. after that, i got on here, and i can now say i am the proud owner of a pair of rti 4, 2 csi 3, a pair of the new monitors, the 30s i think(theyre at my dad's place, cant remember, 1 driver, 1 tweet) and a pair of M10's which were bought in a similar manner as the 110. i also have a pair of def-tech pro monitor 800's, a yammy rxv 765, which i love(at 400 brand new, with pre-out support for what looks to be up to 10.2(if it can process all the channels, under its own power will only do 7.2). i also have two psw 505's and an HK 3490, which will need some external crossovers or something, because i dont like the full signal sent to everything(hearing a sub play everything is weird, and the speakers could do a lot more with more power to mids and highs). also saved an old 5 disc dvd from abandonment, and got a decent cd player for the time being. i think one day the M10s with the matching psw 110 (both are the cherry wrap veneer/vinyl stuff) will end up in a garage system. or i might get bored and try to configure the m10s in a way they will run 4 ohm and put them in my car, because i dont feel like building or ordering speaker boxes. sorry to rant, and sorry for no capitals, the computer here at work is slow and laggy, and sometimes it will type them, sometimes wont.
