I don't have pictures. That was a while ago and my wife probably wouldn't appreciate me still having that picture.

    RtiA5s were my first.

RTA 12C's purchased new in August 1984 from Woofer & Tweeter, now gone for many years. Rebuilt the Xovers + did some other mods almost 2 years ago. They're ready for another 30 years of musical goodness.

The first Polk I listened to is the RT-400. My parents bought them around 1998 and I listened to them most of the time, amazing speakers. Then I moved out I bought my first Polk, the RTi4.

Bought my 1st pair in 1986 I believe. SDA2As. The store sold me a Yamaha R-9 to drive them with and the Polks ate its lunch. Out of the goodness of their heart the store upgraded the 2As to 2Bs. So I have a pair of 2Bs that look like 2As. They are very confused. I TLd them last year and they sound great. Never really had the time to concentrate on this hobby much until last year. So I threw the R9 in the trash after the caps leaked and bought a couple of Adcom amps. Thats when I really realized how good they sound. And I know that Adcom is not the last word in gear but compared to what I had it is night and day.

I first started with 90's Polks:

    - RT-7's, RT-3's, RT-16's, CS-350LS

Then I found this forum and went vintage:

    - RTA-12C, Monitor 5B, Monitor 7C, Monitor 10B, SDA-2B, SDA-1C

Got curious to try out more modern designs:

    - LSi-7's, LSi-9's, LSi-15's, LSi/FX's, LSi-C

Then these came out and had to give them a whirl:

    - LSiM-703's, LSiM-705's, LSiM-707's, LSiM-702's, LSiM-704c, LSiM-706c

Bold faced are speakers I still have. Bold faced and red are speakers I need to sell.

Just got into the game, February 2012... the first speakers I owned, were bought after my HTiB (which I don't count, as it was a very lame one... but nonetheless inspired my interest) were a pair of Monitor 70 Series I. I remember the day, I was just a broke guy walking into a Pawn Shop in town, looking for affordable camera lenses, and it was love at first sight!!! I didn't even own a receiver. I had extensive knowledge in most areas of consumer electronics/computers, so I knew Polk had a good name in audio. Saved up and went back the moment I had enough money (about a week and a half) and they still had them! Next thing you knew, I drove about 1.5hrs to get a HK receiver w/ hdmi... from then on, I've had speaker fever and have mostly stuck with Polk ever since.

(The CS1 I acquired shortly after)

First Polks that I heard where at the base exchange for Ramstein AB in Germany. I do not recall the models but they where hooked up to some NAD gear. We didnt have any Polks at our PX where I was stationed.

As far as owning Polk, I am still looking for some Monitor 7's.

My first Polk's were M5b's I bought in 1985 along with an AMP and CD player. I just found the original paperwork including the warrantee card, manual, and receipt, where the summary reads "great tunes"! I paid $349 for the pair and they're still the main speakers for my home theater rig.

My first Polks were the 1Cs I wrote about in the thread about the modifications I have done or had done to them. You can see pictures at: http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?147471-Now-I-have-the-Mods-Completed-on-My-1Cs!

My first encounter with Polks was with SRSs in 1989 in Mountain View, CA, and the result was my purchase of a pair of 1Cs, because I did not have the room for the SRSs.

The story of this event and my 25-years journey to my present rigs is told at:http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?143494-Polk-Audio-SDA-Speakers-amp-Perreaux-Industries-Electronics-My-Affair-de-Coeur
