I'm just curious since I was out of the loop on this for so long, but did the 707s ever make it out of CA? Or are they still bouncing around there?

What's going on with the demo? No action/update since the 27th of February and no review from the last demo. Another demo could have been close to done or completed and the demo program moved on to the next person in line since then.

    Well here goes.

I have been sheepish about reviewing the 703s due to the fact i dont have experience describing what im hearing in audio gear, so i will just use regular words the best i can.

The listening was done using my adcom stack of gfa 555, gfp 750 and gcd400 with monoprice cables, and rega rp1 with upgrade pack and rega mini pre.

I guess when combined with my 55 year old ears subjected for a working lifetime to factory, print shop, and landscapers equipment, I guess this can certainly be described as a non audiophile review.

I have to admit, i always seem to expect something magical when a step up is made in our system, im always dissapointed at first, then upon further reflection, the improvements are more appreciated.

The 703s are no exception, we listened, then compared to our infinity recapped rs6s, apl prism 500s, dcm tf 400s, mirage om 10s and 12s.

All did something better or at least as good as the 703s, but the polks put together a set of attributes that none but the infinity kappa 5s came close to by themselves.

I guess mid bass would be their strongest area of reproduction, with the rs6s and apls coming closest to matching the polks.

So in summation, all my other mid level speaks had qualitys as good or better than the same quality in the polks, but none put them together in one speaker as well.

i would certainly hope that would be the case, as all the others together have not cost half the asking price of the polks.

I am sure better equipment, and younger ears, combined with the glossary of audio terminology many of you posess would produce a better listening experience, as well as review, but this was mine, and it took awhile to kinda get up the nerve to put it out there.

I would like to thank polk, dorokusai, jon s, and anyone else involved in allowing us to audition these beautiful speakers.

Quite a while ago, i left jon a pm letting him know our time was up, and they could be repacked at a minutes notice, we gave him our email address to email us labels, and when he has the next move plotted out for these speaks ready, we are ready to move them.

Any general sense of what state the 703's will land in next? From what I understand, the speakers move according to the requests and distance. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Also, it's a bit difficult to track the movement because not all members choose list state in their profile.

I believe Kex still has them unless he returned them to the warehouse, which I hope is what he did.
