Does music sound better with the lights out? There's less to distract you and hence a better connect with the music. I curious if thats just me, or does it work that way for everyone?

I picked up Bachman Turner Overdrive (Not Fragile) on vinyl this weekend at the Berlin farmer's market in New Jersey! I think it is my new favorite! The Bass player is fantastic!

I saw BTO at Six Flags years back.
Naturally it cost money to see the concert.
Funny thing was, there was what seemed like 25 people "inside" the concert, and 1500 people standing outside the "open air" venue getting it for free!
I was in the "free" crowd.

    They sounded excellent however.

Stole you picture Rick! Sorry but it was convenient.

Hey. I am looking at changing my CD player out. Should I go with a Oppo so I can play SACD? What difference would I hear with SACD? My gut feeling tells me that the "hiss" between the silent periods would be gone. What else?

Prairie Wind is one of my favorites by Niel Young! Great album!!

Also, have you heard the new McCartney with Diana Krall and her band? I am interested in your thoughts if you have.

Thanks for the advice Rick. I was hoping that you would say that SACD took care of the white noise in the recording also. O well, I will think about it awhile. There are a few other things that I should buy before I make a SACD player purchase.

Note that Sal has lowered the price on the Denon to $125 plus shipping, that's a great deal and I can't believe nobody has snatched it up yet...

You are a RAM freak chumlie!!:cheesygrin:

I just bought the new McCartney CD from Target. It has two bonus tracks not available anywhere else. Haven't heard it yet, but the samples sounded nice. It's a more mellow McCartney CD with a sorta "smooth jazz" sound because Diana Krall and her band play the instruments.

^^^ My sister is the biggest Genisis fan that ever lived.
She has a Genisis websight somewhere.
She followed them around the country several times when they were touring.
She has met him several times and Phil has even emailed her on several occasions.
    I really like them also.

    Great choice there chumlie.
Mike and Mechanics had some pretty good stuff also.
