I am finally finishing the waiting room next to my theatre area. Since it is a small room (9x14), I decided to go with In-Ceiling speakers. I am debating whether I should buy the RC80i or the TC80i. It will be mainly used for music. I already ordered a pair of the rc80is for $129 after learning about the TC80is which I can get for around $400. I am looking for opinions if the TC80is would be worth the difference or even if they are better. I have heared they are more geared for home theatre.

The TC80i is timbre matched to your from speakers and would be my choice. In my last house I used the TC60i with my RTi front end and liked them very much.

The ceiling speakers are going to be in a separate room though. They are not being used with the 7.2 speakers in the main area. Is it that much difference?

Ahmed in that case forget what I said. My bad for not understanding what you so clearly stated. It doesn't matter in the least and you should use whichever speaker you prefer.

I recommend saving the money and installing the RC series for that application. I have used both RC and TC series speakers in my listening area and both are excellent speakers for what they are intended for.
