Upgrade, I'll repost a few pics of the other Moscode with stock caps+resistors. The weight itself is very noticeable too!

    Inside of a Bryston SSP.
I had to pull apart this Bryston SP1.7 to upgrade the firmware.

Yep, Bryston sent two chips, a chip puller, and new screws. Both chips sit on that daughter board behind the face panel. One is the square chip in the brown socket and the other bigger IC with the white label on it. Most difficult part was pulling off the large one.

    Pretty cool piece of hardware.

I bought this tuner new in 1970 to use with my Dynaco SCA80 amp, Thorens TD124/SME 3009 II/Stanton 681EE, and "Double Advent" loundspeakers.

It is an excellent FM tuner...even today. Keep it!

    I wish I had my system today.

Other than what looks like a custom input buffer on a separate PC board they look nearly identical to my 250ASP ICE module.
    Since I see transistor also.
ICE modules use MOSFET's as output devices.

Since I only see that black metal on one side only, doesn't look as it connected to the other board, it also has screws holes, it also has a red wire going under it. I say not an ICE modules.

It's a Wyred 4 Sound ST-500. Fred, you're correct about the input buffer boards. There also appears to be a couple of parts added to the ice modules too.

Yeah on mine I attach the input directly to the module where the white wire harness connects to it.
Looks like it was a kit?

I just recently had both my NAD and Sansui open recently; wish I would have seen this thread earlier and taken pics. The Sansui is just a monster inside (I've never seen such large caps before) and the NAD has a massive toroidal for being rated at 50wpc.

Cool thread, keep the pics coming!

This is one of the coolest thread on CP  I'll try to post some pics, many were acquired while I operated my repair shop. I hope this will not break your fun as many of the gear will be lower end (what can you expect when the owner doesn't want to put the money down and gives it away :o ). Its too bad, I trashed approximately 125 VCRs a couple years ago, that would have given the opportunity to compare older technology and various brands. Unbelievable how cheap were the newer models compared to the vintage tankers!

I feel ya; that's why I wanted to post pics of the Sansui (1979). The internals wreak of quality, there's a TON of circuitry in it and it's laid out very well. Even the soldering is high quality, and there's not a single piece of plastic on the thing. You just don't see that level of craftsmanship and quality anymore. Case and point, given the unit is 31 years old and works great, and it's never been restored!

The Tri-Vista is a unit I've been wanting to hear. I love the look, and am a fan of Musical Fidelity's amps, based off of the ones I've heard.
