So what do you think is gon'na happen to Margaret when Nuck finds out she signed the dead for the land over to the church? I think she's in a world of trouble!

You'd think? needless to say, no more boom boom for Nucky!
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

I'm thinking Nuck crossed the line when he killed Jimmy - it was too easy for him. The line he uttered after he shot him the first time, "I don't need forgiveness", could have been said to Margaret.

I think Kelly MacDonald better start looking for another series!

Well... it would have been if not for the spoilers flying all over the place... Deadwood will always be my #1...

I wasn't expecting Nucky to shoot him... in the face no less, I nearly jumped out of my chair.
My wife saw oedipal ripples mid-season. I didn't, but in retrospect I think it made James' PTSD at least a distant 2nd on his issues list.

And I did jump... I was dead convinced Nucky was going to wheel on Manny...

Closing with the inter-cut scenes of Margaret's signing and Nucky's champaign celebration was brilliant. You guys may be right, but I've a feeling that she's more than Nucky's match... saw right thru his BS at the kitchen table.
    More later,

Nucky killed James who was his son (raised him as his son) for betrayal. Loyalty is everything. Eli, Nuck's brother has another thing coming too. If he makes it out of his minimum one year stint in prison he will be lucky. Blood ain't thicker than water for Nucky.

Best series ever on TV and cut off at season 3. TOTAL rip-off. Thoroughly enjoying Dexter and Breaking Bad still though. Boardwalk is very good but still 3rd.

I was very disappointed in the series 2 finale. James character was really getting solidified, and I think it was a mistake to kill him off now. At the same time, it shows what a monster Nucky really is. To indentify with a character like Nucky, the writers usually show some sort of compassion on his end. They did this last season with the story of his wife and son, as well as what seemed to be a revenge killing of Hans Schroder. This is not much different than a Tony Soprano character, while a monster, there is good in him that we like to see ftrom time to time. Not as a weakness but as a strength.

I think that they hurt Nucky's character with this ending. He murdered the man he raised for betryel, while Nucky betrays everyone himself. There was also no compassion on Nucky's end for James son now losing both parents. I also cannot see Van Alden's character coming into play again, and he was also being built up nicely. He cannot step foot in AC, and appears to be just hiding out in the midwest seomwhere. Seemed more like a series finale than a season finale.

The Father (priest) better think twice if that Deed actually makes it to his hands........ . He will go to Nuck and ask for a little piece of Church land and all will be well.

Well, it is suppossed to be quasi-true, so there is only so much they can do. Hopefully, it will be properly finished-off unlike Deadwood and Rome.

I would like Nucky to find out Eli was the one who suggested killing him, and James didn't want it to occur.

Do you guys remember that scene where that guy got shot in Ireland? The guy that didn't want nucky's guns?

That house is not in Ireland. It's my clients building. Its located in Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx. George Wahsington stayed there for a week while planning one of his battles.

    Interesting!

That's some cool trivia right there. I don't know if anybody else feels this way but I always get goose bumps when I go into a building that has founding fathers type of history.

If you notice the quote above my post, I was referring to Deadwood being the best series ever and cut off at season 3, not Boardwalk Empire.

^ Plus Deadwood was "quasi-true". While reading Edmund Morris' The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt I had to chuckle when during one of Teddy's trips to the Badlands, up popped a meeting with Seth Bullock.
