Here are some photos of the 1.2TL's, as well as his cousins (M12 and RTI12).
I must admit, Polk makes nice sounding speakers!
I can't explain what caused the crossover plate to discolor. However, it is cosmetic, exclusively. -
Very nice, congrats.

Those 1.2's make the rti's look small.

Very Nice! A lot of people have the big boys with the plates discolored. It seems llike a common problem. I lucked out with mine though.

Big difference in the sound as well. Although the RTI12's sound brighter, the 1.2TL's sound fuller and punchier.

Any thoughts on the plates discoloring from the sun setting. If it hits them as it sets everyday, it would cause this affect. It take years, but seems to make sense...
-
what are you driving them with?

I am driving them with a Carver CT-17 Tuner/Pre-Amp and a Carver TFM-55 Amp.
I am currently doing some research into tube amps to drive them. Tom had them connected to a VTL tube amp in his store, and they sounded damn good!
While my current set-up sounds good, I cannot seem to replicate the clarity that I heard with the VTL tube amp driving them (in Pittsburgh) with my current Carver gear.
I am debating on whether or not to buy another pre-amp or buy another pre-amp and tube amps for these speakers.
Any suggestions???

I do not have the slightest idea. Nothing else looks faded, except the plate.

I saw those when they were first posted. For some reason, I thought they were sold.
I'll shoot George a message to inquire about the status of his amps. Do you happen to know the model number of his amps?
