Pio Elite AVR features

I have a Pioneer sc-05 AVR and overall love it. There is one feature I am unsure of though...there is a "phase-control" function. I have read the manual numerous times on this feature, but I am still unsure about it's usefulness. With both 2-channel and HD listening, turning the phase-control ON just gives a different color to the sound, not necessarily "better". Thoughts on the phase control function would be appreciated.....

Secondly, the AVR comes with a DIALOG ON / OFF function for HT. I usually have it ON to make HT dialog more easy to listen to. Last night I turned it OFF for a bit and found watching TV almost annoying due everything coming out of the center channel (CSiA6) was so flat. Thoughts / experiences with this function.....
(maybe my center channel would benefit from a separate AMP!)

Ok here's the bottom line in all things Phase.

Phase control in the Elite receivers think of this like a time alinement tool. It measures all phase of each channel of your speaker system using MCACC.

You do not use this feature manually , MCACC will do it all for yeah. Run MCACC and Phase will be set automatically.

Please read the manual fully about MCACC and use their guide lines.
