So then how did the first Emo unit come about if Phoenix Gold had those units originally?

Gotcha and now he owns Emotiva. So the schematic's may have stayed with Phoenix Gold, but he may have purchased the units.

    Intriguing...

They actually had thousands of units built and ready to ship. When the wheels came off at Phoenix Gold, they were all but scrap. It would appear that Dan bought the units, put a new name on them and built an empire. Kudos to him for doing so, but I am curious now about the re-emergence of this design under yet another name by another manufacturer. Has me wondering a bit if Dan has anything to do with this and if it may have anything to do with the tube amp venture going south...

BINGO but Bob had a sore bottom end after he got dry humped by this guy....I'd say it's past time for Bob to spend some money to get the rights to HIS name back. This is ridiculous that now a third company is riding his coat tails on his accomplishments. Although might be a whole different design they're still riding his name for dollars....

you know from what I understand although I'm most likely wrong. It was my understanding that Phoenix Gold only brought the right to make Carver car audio amps....How was it that they were designing home audio amps?

If Bob hadn't "sold out" to begin with, this wouldn't be happening. For whatever reason he went for the cash grab and now this is the only logical result. It's his own fault.

Are you trying to say "capisce?" Well, don't. It hurts my ears when you do it.

Truer words my friend. I could not agree more. I think there are some pretty good reasons Bob took things public, and I won't pretend to know what those are, but once you take the cash, there is always a price to pay.

I am not saying what Bob did was bad or not necessary, etc. Just that once you sell/assign your brand. It's gone and the new entities will try and capitalize on your legacy.

Seems like this is moving rather slowly. Some of the dates indicate that the web site started 2011-2012 and looks like it is still a work in progress. This to me indicates there may be low funding for this venture whoever it may be. Business world can be tough, but if you are going to use the internet to promote you would want to do a better job than that. As it looks, I would have a hard time pulling the trigger on any of the products for fear that they will be out of busines before the warrenty ran out. Shame, as it might be decent gear, and never get going if others are not willing to take the plunge. But I guess you could say that about anything new in a market. John update if you hear any more.

I am on their mailing/demo list when the amp becomes available in a few months. I will certainly keep this updated.
