Time to start saving. Unless I come across some higher audiophile grade speakers, I'll probably never give up my ForteII's. Best deal I've gotten to date on a good set of speakers.

Agreed. The Fortes are fantastic speakers and sound good on many different types of material.

Bob Crites says that his autotransformers are an upgrades, but probably not as much as the other components, which would save a little money. I love the Jantzen components I used, but fine results could be achieved on a lesser budget as well.

I finally got the new, titanium tweeter diaphragms installed, but still need to do a critical listening session with them for a full evaluation. Right away they did sound a tad more detailed and provided more air in the sound than the originals. A more detailed review to come, but the Bob Crites upgrades are already starting to prove their worth.

Can't wait to read you r review of the upgrades.

Modded Forte's are nice speakers but better than Klipschhorns? I guess I prefer the extra bottom end of the big guys. And if you mod the others like the LaScala's they sound absolutely amazing. A friend did his up. Playing through tubes they are breathtaking.

I'm not saying Fortes are better than the big, Heritage speakers, but many people discount the Forte as overall inferior those other speakers. The big boys definitely have traits including great bass and easy of reproduction, but smaller Klipsch three-way, dual horn speakers including the Forte can sound very good.

I'm currently also looking to have little, brass plaques made for the back of the speakers to replace the original sticker since it is falling off. I think they would be a classy finishing touch on this project.
