Well I think I found me a speaker.

I bought a pair of Klipsch Forte's today. AND LOVE THEM!!

I bought them to pair with my DIY tube amp. They love each other. For the first time. It actually sounds like the performer is in the room. Unbelievable.

I love it!

The only thing that is lacking is the bass. I'm hoping placement can solve this. If need be I'll get a sub later.

But one thing is for sure. These are keepers!

Heres a few pics.

Congrats! That minimalist TV tray stand approach really sets off that DIY amp. Looks great...sounds like your ears like it as well. Is that the NAD pre under the amp? I knew I shoulda PM'd about that tube system when it was posted...way too cool!

Nice speakers!!!! I actually just bought a pair of Klipsch but didn't want to say anything in fears of getting banned.:D

They seem to be in great condition. One thing I love about Klipsch is their speakers are very efficient.

You either love horns or hate them.
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

Congrats nik thay look great had me a pair and loved them,to get more bass try putting them about 12inchs from back wall, the passive radiator helps with bass & needs some space to work, just play with it. ENJOY

Nikolas..!!! What happened..??? You were buying Polk SRS's yesterday....I love the live sound of Klipsch speakers..And very efficient.. You won't need a whole lot of power...Which is a good thing since I see you have tubes...They are very LIVE..No SDA though...I've tollerated a lot of irritating sound just to experience SDA..Good for you Bud...

Congrats! I always wanted a pair of those...since my step bro had some Forte II's.

But man, pull them things off the wall some! I bet the radiator hits the wall! Also I am guessing you dont have any kids in the house ehh? I'd be terrified to set anything on those TV tray stands.

If they are weak in the bass, something is WRONG....

    Forte's have fantastic bass response~

I've been listening this morning with the TT. These are the best speakers I've ever heard. They completely disappear. I'm in love. The bass is much better with the TT than the CDP I was using yesterday. Seems 8 watts is PLENTY for these bad boys. They will play way past my comfort level. Live is the key word with these things. Really sounds like your there. Very easy to get lost in it.

There awesome! And did I say Mint!

I'm a fan of Klipsch on tubes, otherwise they're awful.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I really like the Forte's, but go find some Chorus II's or even some KG-4's and you might find a different Klipsch speaker that you'll say your in love with..

Nice score! Cool amp too. Just curious, what is your musical preference when listening to this rig?

Nikolas...Just a thought...Don't forget to upgrade your crossovers and tweets...LOL..

Seriously though..The bass in most program material isn't enough to please most people..I don't care how good the speaker is...I'm not using tone controls with your old 1.2tl's and I could almost always use a little extra kick in the bASS.

    Yes.

I think there is just some awesome synergy with my tube amp and the Klipsch.

It Effing excels at acoustical. String instruments sound amazing. Sends chills down my arms. But it sounds great with anything. Really a great all around speaker.

So I take it that you don't want you're 1.2tl's back...How did the SRS's you were buying suddenly become Klipsch Forte's.? I like the way horns deposit the sound into the air..There's not a pinpoint sourse..The sound is just in the air..in front off the speaker

Nice. I'm looking forwary to hearing them. I've always wanted to hear some older Klipsch. I've heard Harry's Corns, but at low vol.

Nik, you may have already read this short review of the Forte II (the newer model than the ones you have but probably relevant), but I thought it was pretty cool and he did hit on the placement options of the Forte.
