Ya maybe they have been compared to paradigms signature line, but I wouldn't. They may very well sound the part but they certainly don't look the part.
But i have never heard them, so i can't say.
What do u mean not look the part? They're quite simple and elegant. The piano gloss finish is actually very well done. The bamboo natural finish is actually pretty stunning.
Besides, would you like the bulk of the money you pay to go to what's on the inside or what's on the outside?

Sure there are speakers that look sexy and sound like crap but there are few that I have seen that look like crap and sound sexy. Not saying it can't be done I m sure that it has been done before, but its rare.
What I was saying is if you have seen the paradigm studio/sig lines you know what I m talking about there Fit and finish are as good as it gets.
Clearly I would not buy a speaker because of its looks. The Bulk of the money that gos into paradigms dose go to sound. If you heard them you would would not disagree with that statement but the sexy looks of the paradigms is like icing on a cake.
I Honestly don't think those speakers would hold a candle to LIS9s let alone the Paradigm studio/sig line. I could be wrong I have not heard those speakers but I have heard enough speakers in this price range to get an idea of the market.
What I mean when I say they didn't look the part, is that they do NOT LOOK the part, there finish looks good, but its average for a speaker of that price they don't stand out in any way unlike some of the better speakers that I have listened too and seen.
But you know what they say don't judge a book by its cover so again I could be wrong.Monitor 60s, CS10 front

I owned the Paradigm Studio 20 and like them a lot when pairing them with the Krell 400XI. However, when I upgraded to the Bryston 4bsst and the BP26, I prefer the Sig S2 to the Studio. Besides the pricing differece, the Sig. S2 is more neutral and more refined than the Studio series. Studio series is a better fit for pop, rock and the Sign S2 is a better suite for some small jazz piece , IMO. -

Wow... read any reviews on the Sierra-1's before? They are touted THE BEST monitors under $1k. They would kill the LSi 9's and the beat the Studio 20's hands down (I consider the 20's better than the LSi 9's). If you want to find out just how good they are, order a pair from their website and do the 30 day trial. Listen to them first and them come back to me

I m sorry I m a bit confused, what speaker exactly did you prefer to the studio 20s? I know the paradigm signature line is better compared to the studio line but I didn't suggest it because its a little too far out of this guys price range.Monitor 60s, CS10 front

Here's a soundstage review from a reviewer who actually owns a pair of Signature S2's himself:
"With the Ascend Acoustics, something did: From the very beginning, I could tell that the Sierra-1 had outstanding clarity, and was conveying much more low-level detail than any other under-$1000 two-way I’d ever heard -- qualities that became even more apparent when I sat down to do some critical listening. In fact, the Sierra-1’s ability to let me hear into recordings was right up there with Paradigm’s Signature S2 and PSB’s Platinum M2, two of the best two-way monitors on the market, and each of which sells for about two grand per pair. (I own a pair of Signature S2s.) "

Btw I'm not knocking the Studio 20's at all. Great speakers for the price, but let's be honest here, Paradigm is not going to be your best bang for the buck speaker.

Wish I could, ATM how ever I m saving for a new sub. After that I might start saving for some new speakers or maybe a new GPU.
Best I can do is go listen to them at a dealer. I will check them out if I can find a dealer that carries them with in a 3 hour drive of where I live and report back.Monitor 60s, CS10 front

They don't carry Sierra-1's at any dealer unfortunately. They are internet direct (which is why they have such great performance for the money). The only way to listen to them is to do the trial or go to someone's place who owns them

No the $328 a pair is another speaker Ascend makes... CMB170-SE. Still really good. The Sierra-1's are $848 a pair in natural bamboo.

That FR is pretty ragged for a studio monitor. And that tweeter is far from impressive: http://www.htguide.com/forum/showpost.php4?p=453708&postcount=1"He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. The FR is not that bad. I've never heard anyone complain about upper range performance on these either. No $1k/pr monitor is going to be perfect... otherwise no one would spend thousands on a pair of speakers. What I can say is that these speakers have excellent clarity, which probably more than offsets these little bumps in the FR graph.

Look no further then Dynaudio. They make hands down the best sounding studio monitors made in my opinion. They outclass everything I heard at their price points. Give them a test run and learn the true meaning of accurate.Dan
