Well with that attitude you won't be invited to any of our many local gatherings. But then again, it doesn;t sound like you would even be interested
Your last statement is very comical as most of the heavy hitters in here, the ones you don;t like, have more experience and first hand knowledge in this hobby then all of you noobs combined and then some. I'm not saying you can't express your own opinion, but just from the few threads you've posted you haven't a clue about anything in this hobby. Yet you want to alienate yourself completely.
Have fun as I tried to help you and offer advice in a few other threads. Consider yourself on ignore at this point.

understanding it takes a very serious degree of arrogance to think this is the only place knowledgeable audio enthusiasts gather. im sure you "heavy hitters" arent that naive. i was warned about this but figured id give it the benift of the doubt and see for myself. als upper esch clique that thinks theyr **** dont stink. its all god man. funny thing about the internet...you have absolutely no clue who you are talking to and with that in mind hell i could be bob c stirring up the "polk pot". it is rather comical when another comes from a different site and the 10 biggest posters that claim to know everything turn into kids clawing for the next stab. have you never asked a question that you know the answer to just to see who knos what? if not you should try it especially here. its like throwing a piece of meat to a bunch of pirahnas. you know...the part wher they would eat each other just to get their own.well anyway i guess the opinions are out there. have a good day shoveling no matter what the substance might be.

Seriously? Look, i'm not passing judgement, because trust me, i hardly know ANYTHING, but that thread alone kindof puts these people that you're ranting about on a bit of a different level. You aren't on their level, get over it, grab some humility, stick around, and learn. Rocking the boat and trying to tell other people that you know more than they think when you've got threads like that going certainly isn't going to get you anywhere.

I'm not big on circle jerks. But i do find it a bit strange that you'd make that judgement of me, but not make the same 100x over of F1nut, H9, or HearingImpaired.
I'd be surprised if i've heard or owned 5% of what they have.

You didn't start a war. This thread was going well.............
Enjoy your system, rock out, swap out gear as you feel it necessary. It's a journey and the longer the journey the more enjoyable it can become. You are on the right track and you certainly are more articulate and a whole lot more sensible than some others, who really think they have a clue but really aren't even on the same planet.

owning equipment means nothing to me. if so desired you go to the audio store and set down the visa now you own the same thing they do....not impressed. its the common courtisy of not inflecting arrogance when speaking to someone that has less knowlegde of what you speak that gains respect. as i put in the post to h9 a month back. if you want to talk shop about a different topic...say harley restoration im sure youll find there are a few that fall shot of knowledge. yes meeting matt would be cool but it doesnt mean you instantly own the right to treat others like ****. if its that important what they think of your system why not have them pick one out for you? -

I don't know. You and mhmacw seem to be internet savvy. That being said, you should know that an internet persona doesn't always reflect the personality behind the screename. Bigred when you first joined you were perceived as an internet bully just trying to shout down people and insult but you seemed to have changed your tune lately. I assume.
BTW, friends don't need to suck up to each other.
I think everyone should take a deep breath and relax. Plus mhmacw you are really doing yourself a disservice being put on IL lists because you are cutting yourself off from a wealth of knoweldge and experience. Plus in the short time you guys have been here I would think it very difficult to make judgement calls on peoples motives or abilities.
How about we stop crapping up the OPs thread and just pass along our experiences.:) -

A bully huh....hmmm riiiiiight. I have stated my opinion in threads where many of you long time members would bash on emotiva. I would of course be crucified for that, so I would retaliate back. I hardly call that being a bully. I have a lot of experience with amps of all kinds, and being told that I don't know what I'm talking about will not sit well with me. So you can be damn straight I will not sit back and take the lashes from some of these members.

Well good.
Anyway, since you're looking to dive deeper into your 2-channel experience, have you considered upgrades to the turntable, or possibly a completely new turntable? A a fresh new cartridge can go a long way, or a new phono pre-amp, or a Pro-ject speedbox which supposidly is a must for music hall and pro-ject turntables. Whatever. Just for the record I never bashed Emotiva products. You keep lumping people together with statements like "you long time members."
Let's just keep it civil and enjoy ourselves. -

Whatever yourself, you called me a bully so you can shove it. You put yourself into this argument so if you can't handle the heat, then get outta the kitchen SON . lol, but seriously, I was not talking about you specifically, I was making an open statement. Ummm I did not call you a bully. If you re-read my post I was talking about internet persona vs actual personality and said, "you were perceived as an internet bully." There's a big difference there.
Bait me all you want, I'm not going for it.

The TT I have now is new (MMF5.1). It was not set up properly when I got it, so there was a learning curve there. I think I got it right finally. I got the Phono Cartridge Alignment tool from TT basics, and found just how bad it was. Once that was sorted out, I put the Herbie's mat on it (3.77mm mat), and that got the VTA corrected. At least it appears to be correct now, I don't know how to check it other than eyeballing it. It looks pretty good to me. All that stuff there made a significant improvement in the sound, and I'm pretty happy with it right now.2 Channel rig:

Which platter do you have on it?
BTW a better reflex clamp other than what comes with the MMF5.1 will make a big improvement also. If you have the coin I highly recommend the following;
http://store.acousticsounds.com/d/36249/Clearaudio-Twister_Clamp-Record_Mats_and_Clamps
If you decide to get it I can send you some delrin shims that will improve and stregthen the reflex action and it will wow you on depth of bass response, lowering the noise floor thus improving imaging, inner detail, bloom and decay etc. -

The parasound halo gear you listed is really good I had a chance to demo that exact set here in Houston with a set of Martin Logan the sound is really nice and the gear is well built to say the least. I know for a fact it's a big step up from the emo gear you currently have.AudioFilet wrote: »Reason being: Nice big fat bonus check from HQ. I wish I had got it sooner so I could have taken advantage of some of the holiday sales, but I had to be sure first.
Anyway, I like my LSi9s. and want to give them a shot with some new gear. If I need a speaker upgrade too, so be it. Right now, I am using them with the HSU sub for 2 channel (blasphemy, I know) and the Emotiva gear (MORE blasphemy!). It all sounds fine, and I like it. But right now, I can pretend that I am a branch of the US Government and throw a bunch of money at a problem that doesn't exist.
I would like to keep it below 10K though. Even though I don't have to. I've been wanting to enlarge my listening room, and figured the easiest way to do it would be to knock down the walls with the stereo system (just kidding, dammit).
I'm very attracted to Parasound gear for some reason. I like the Halo P3 preamp, and the A23 amp. The A21 amp seems to me like overkill for a pair of LSi9's. I'm going to lose the sub for the time being, to see how I like it that way.
Good choices?? Any suggestions are welcome.
Sorry for the long post. -
Someone here on the forums is selling some nice anthem gear as well. Haven't heard the anthem gear but I'm sure some here have insight on anthem and there quality.
