That should've been on the local news.

I thought gratitude from bosses on that level died out on scrooges death.1902 or so.

I remember hearing a japanese man gave each employee 1 million or 3 for gratitude of service. I wish I could spread that kind of reward as gratitude for something.

If I won a big lottery I would love to do those things that a few do.Leaving a huge tip to help a strugling waitress out.You know, those kinds of surprises.

Pretend to be stranded on the road and waite to see who stops to help...Reward the good hearted ....
    sorry for the ramble

Our company had a good year despite the economy and we were all rewarded with a $750 bonus check. It was a bit unexpected, but much appreciated and I know our boss and the owners of the company appreciate all the work we did.

Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. regardless thats a really nice gesture. I don't think it has to be a lot of money to mean something, even 25.00 bucks is nice because at least you know that your boss is thinking of you. This was the first year I ever got something from my boss and his boss even, and I was floored because for me that never happened, and it meant more than just money to me because they acutally wanted to give it to me, not that they had to.
Thats the best gesture, and I'm sure you're employees will love it regardless of the amount.

I got "Be glad you have a job."

But I am currently on vacation. Then again, we'll see how long that lasts and my boss freaks out and I get called in to fix a problem. I was already denied vacation unless I promised to stay local. So my plans to travel got dumped on and I had to back out.

I don't know if it's good or bad to be in such high demand.

Although my boss' boss told me today that he was glad they hired me. He gets guff about all the other projects my department is handling but never hears a single complaint about my main projects. He also said he thinks it's unfair how the security team gets the credit for my hard work and he's been making sure more people know what's going on. Depending on how I should take that, I'm guessing that's a good bonus. All I know is that I like it when things run smooth. Can't stand the negative press. Even if it means I don't get noticed. As long as they pay me and the checks keep coming, I'm all good.
