    Just found this:
    http://www.mixx.com/stories/500574/olin_ross_sound_system_speakers_scammers_don_t_sleep

    and this:
    http://www.squidoo.com/olinross
The scam alert webpage indicated that the product sold for $24.95 from China, and that included shipping. There were hundreds of stories about being taken by this scam. Now there showing up on ebay and craigs list. I guess by people like me trying to make some money back.

    Some more:
I don't think misrepresenting a product would be a criminal matter, Might be some different laws for a store but not for buying from the back of a van. When someone sells you something for $300 that they claim is worth $1900 you have to know it's either fake or stolen. Think "Caveat Emptor"

    Bridgeport, WV

My husband went to Walmart and two white men in a white van with PA lisence plates approached him. They told him that they deliver home stereo systems, OLIN ROSS OR6050, and when they left the warehouse they realized that the warehouse unknowingly gave them too many, so they were trying to sell them. My husband asked how much and the men told him $700 because the system was worth $2500. My husband told them no that he did not have that much money on him, so he got in his car and started to leave the parking lot. He noticed the two men behind him waving him to pull over. The men asked my husband how much money he would be willing to pay. My husband said he would give them $200, because the men did show him the magazine with the pricing information and their ACTUAL ID's. The men accepted the deal, took the money, and continued SCAMMING everyone else at Walmart. My poor husband was so excited about the deal that he just got, but when we opened the box we realized the system was not wireless and had no guide on hooking it up to the tv. At this point I had a feeling that he had been scammed, but I went online anyway hoping to find an instructional manual on how to hook it up. The only thing I found was how everyone else had been SCAMMED just like my husband!!!

here is the sub... for 249.99!

shall I show you the LSi9's new for 799.99 for the pair or would that be to much for you to handle?

do you have 1 pair (2 speakers) or 2 pair (4 speakers) for sale. If you want to offer a reasonable

price, I am very much interested, but please do not insult my intelligence by thinking that I should take

    you at your word.

One more thing... your ad says brand new, but in your rather terse reply to me you state

they are three years old. So which is it... are they three years old or are they new. It is

impossible for you to have owned them that long and still call them new, so lets try

a little dose of reality here ok... I am interested, but please quit with the bs...

Holy crap... So he lies about the price he paid for them (unless he's a complete moron and paid double in a retail environment) and how long he's had them. Chances are that in the three years he's had them, they have more than the stated "2 or 3 hours" he claims in the ad.
    And he says, "NO SCAMMERS!"

Good luck getting the truth out of him, John... and if he offers something reasonable, don't bite without taking some backup with you- this guy sounds like trouble.

    his responses...
Actually I didn't get ripped off that's what I paid for them at that time cause that is what they were worth. Polkaudio is coming out with a new line of speakers and that is the reason they are selling them at a bargain price right now. I have more money than I know what to do with so I am in no hurry to dump these off to some poor **** trying to come up. So I suggest you just keep looking cause I won't help your charity kid!

    I sent the guy this...

brand new means never owned. would you buy a new car from a dealership that was
three years old even though it had never been driven? Of course not. I do not think you
to be a fool, but please do not mistake me for one either.

    his reply..
Sure, I would buy a brand new car from a dealership if it were three years old. Material things are worth what you believe they are and not what someone tells you they are.
