I own all the LOTR dvd's BUT maybe I'll get the BlueRay versions if they exist.
I did look at the TVs in Sams Club tonight while they were cooking a pizza for me.The 54" panny looks great and the 58" Sammy looks great too. I just don't know if I get one for myself this Christmas.
I had to order pizza after reading that thread about pizzas this afternoon! For real.It was a generic DeluxeMost people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them. -
I want to get a better cartridge for my TT. A Polkie was kind enough to send me a sure97xe, but I am afraid a stylis replacement won't cut it:( I am thinking a Sure97xe, or Dennon DL160. After that I am done with my system minus some tweaks.Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
Thanks

A new house. It won't be ready in time to slip it under the tree, but the wife and I are still considering it our present this year. It will be Valentines day, St Patricks day, April Fools day, and maybe Mayday present as well. We are hoping it doesn't turn into Fathers day and our Anniversary gift, but who knows."Don't forget to change your politician. They are like diapers they need to be changed regularly, and for the same reason."

Nice home there.Put a bow on it. I hope all goes smooth this winter season.
Is that a little square hole for the projector to shine through into a grand home theater set up down stairs like I see in some magazines?;)Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them. -

The new version has an ethernet port....ooooh baby; thinking of getting two of these things. I have 3 TB of movies, songs, tv shows on a central server. Break is coming up and I have lots of TV shows to catch up on. -
I wanted something with a couple more features than my Cambridge Audio 650R....so I went with a Onkyo TX-NR5007 AVR.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Nice! How does it compare to the NAD T765?

The Onkyo has more features that I was interested in and it's 15+ lbs. heavier. I popped the top on one a couple months ago and the guts are solid. The Integra version looks identical internally so I expect good things overall. I was also looking at the Pioneer Elite and Denon CI series but wanted something different since I don't see many ppl with this model.
I wish they would release some more standardized power ratings. However, my experience with the Onkyo SR series AVR's don't have me worried at all. The WRAT power structure reminds me of the NAD PE/PD designs that they've used for a couple decades.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? You're gonna be happy with that 5007, man. My 1007 put a big smile on my face, and has worked like a charm so far. I did a firmware update as soon as I got mine hooked up, and I'm really pleased with how easy that process is. I'm using it to run RTi70 mains, a CSi40 center, 4 RTi28 surrounds, and Monitor 30 height channels (with a SVS 20-39CS+/Buttkicker combo bringing up the low end)... and even with the extra 2 channels of amplification, it definitely pushes my speakers better than my TX-SR705 did. Plus, though I was concerned about any loudness technology, Audyssey Dynamic EQ sounds absolutely fantastic! Not a fan of Audyssey's DSX mode because it sounds slightly artificial to me, but I'm really digging how natural DPL-IIz Height sounds with most listening material.
(Also, the rumor out of Onkyo UK is that Audyssey Pro may be added to the x007 line in a future firmware release. That would make that series the cheapest Audyssey Pro capable system out there.)Equipment list:
Onkyo TX-NR3010 9.2 AVR
Emotiva XPA-3 amp
Polk RTi70 mains, CSi40 center, RTi38 surrounds, RTi28 rears and heights
SVS 20-39CS+ subwoofer powered by Crown XLS1500

KS - That's good to hear. I'm probably going to calibrate the old way and get technical on the subwoofer with the SVS EQ. Audyssey is pretty convenient but I like the SPL meter ritual. I wish they made the NR series a little more unique in the aesthetics department.
I'm going to play with a dual SurroundBar 50 setup for the front stage using the High+Wide array.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint. -

I hear ya'. I'm a big fan of MultEQ XT's effect on my SVS/Polk setup though, and I actually ended up disabling the standalone EQ I was using to flatten out my sub's response. You should at least give Audyssey a run-through just so you can hear Dynamic EQ in action, 'cause you can always go back to manual EQ or disabled later. I like the way it subtly increases my surrounds and keeps the bass present as I lower volume from near reference.
I wish the NR series had a different look too, but I gotta say... they're solidly built. I put mine on the bottom shelf of the rack my center channel sits on (pics coming soon), and man, handling that 51 lb beast made things interesting. I ended up getting someone to help me get it into position while I wired it up.Equipment list:

Sssooooooo, I ordered myself a new Dell laptop so I don't have to share. LOL!!!!!Money Talks, Mine says Goodbye Rob!!!!

A week away from my allergy ridden apartment in Beijing with the 20" Haier tube TV, tiny kitchen and showerless shower where the entire bathroom gets all wet when you use it to a week in a 425 sq. foot Hotel Room in Taipei, Taiwan--that has a flatscreen in the bathroom as well as the main room--more of a suite than a room! With all the modern amenities including HIGH-SPEED internet which I don't have here--and a Breakfast Buffet...should I continue..Unfortunately this is a very belated X-mas present since it will be more of a Chinese New Year's present than a Dec 25th item. Oh and a REAL shower and a separate Jacuzzi! Some one catch me....I might faint!
Beijing is OK..but the Air Quality here pretty much s$$ks!!
