IF it works... i imagine it works on the same theory as some car manufacturers are using to block out other noise... combating noise with noise to cancel it out i guess....
Interesting piece, but to me, it seems just snakey-oily enough that i'm not sure i'd try it. I'm unsure, though.I don't read the newsssspaperssss because dey aaaallllllllll...... have ugly print.

I wonder how a little box like that generates enough 7.83Hz tones/pulses to have any sort of effect? Interesting.

So, is the theory that the pulses make the system better, or the listener better?
Either way, I have a hard time believing you can fix stray RF with more stray RF.
You'd have all the original stuff, plus generated sums and differences.
In other words, it just adds more crap into the mix. All the origianl stuff doesn't go away.
I think my 600 smackers are going toward a new DAC instead."The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbour to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg." --Thomas Jefferson -
I wonder if 6Moons is going to hell? I always trusted their reviews, but lately their write-ups are more and more suspect.

I take it as making the room equalized with the earth but who knows. Maybe the idea like noise canceling headphones use? Its not RF, its around 8hz. I read awhile back that this frequency really bothers an extremely small group of people to the point they go crazy. The rest of us are not bothered by it. Or maybe we are?Vinyl, the final frontier...

I think a LIVING AIR machine for 600.00 will definately change the IONs in a room ! Now for the better or worse listening enviroment, I have not done a study yet. Maybe later because I have one. Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

Curious, why would you think this? This has been out for a few years. Some have blindly identified whether its on/off beyond random chance. All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed, second it is violently opposed and third, it is accepted as self evident. -
I'll just do what I always do. Wait to comment on whether it works or not until I try it in my own rig......~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~

Well, ignoring the human variable (which can vary) I'm skeptical of anything that adds noise to cancel out noise (white noise generators, and noise canceling headphones being the exception as they are a proven technology). For me, I'd have to see hard data and really hear it for me to accept that it could make a difference, much less a significant one. Then again, I'm firmly in the camp that doesn't believe that static from ones carpet can significantly alter the sound of speakers (I have excellent hearing according to my doctor), I have listened to some really nice systems, and to me, I heard no difference whether the cable was on the carpet or not. But that is something else.
For me, just because someone did it in a blind test, doesn't mean it would pass in a double blind test (probably would not). And because people have identified it, doesn't mean that the change is better or worse, it could just be different (which to me, if I wanted to spend $600, I would upgrade something).
I believe that until proven otherwise by data that this $600 hunk of metal is snake oil, as are many audiophile "tools". I know that this statement is going to stir the nest but still...hardcore purists will argue that static affects cable, that cables tremendously affect sound, that cable elevators help sound, likewise for polishing CD's, and that having a microwave affects your speakers, that your dog picks up radio transmissions and having one causes interference with the $1000 preamp (seriously, for $1000 you think it would be resistant to at least simple RF). I'm not a fan of purists (purists like to argue in addition, and by extension have too much time), I'm a fan of what sounds good, and if those $12 cables on the floor sound good, so be it.Home:

I've several cds from MS on my christmas list. I've only heard one, but was it well mixed and very clean.
I've had quite a bit of MS gear in my rig and find it to be a very fine product!

Ditto. They have had some very suspect "reviews" lately. -

So if you hear a difference why would you have to "really" hear the difference AND have to see hard data before you believe it? No ones going to hit you over the head with any idea to improve your system, thats up to you. You may be at the mind set level where no more advances of your system can take place.

but yeah sometimes thats how i knew my dad left the tv on is I could hear the whine from around the corner.... Its weird though, that sound made it easy to tell when someone moved in to the room.Main Surround -

Yes - it bothers me like crazy -
That frequency can be annoying, especialy in some TVs. What you are hearing is the 15.763Khz sound of the horizontal scan rate. It is 525 times the vertical refresh rate of 29.975hz. In a good set, it should be almost inaudible. But in some sets, if the deflection yoke or the flyback transformer has loose windings or the core is seperated from the windings, it can be quite loud.
As far as this new resonance tool, if you believe it works, I have a device that will cancel out signals from pulsars and quasars and really open up the high frequencies. It requires putting up a 7 foot dish outside with a transponder inside the house, but at only $2500 it improves even HDTV picture! NOT!
If you like some interesting reading, you might want to check out this site. http://www.morrisonaudio.com/morrison_donsview.htm This audio manufacturer really does not believe much of the hype out there and he is not afraid to say it.
Could this resonance cancelation device work? I have idea, but being a college edumacated inganeer, I doubt that it does anything after seeing inside pictures of it. But hey, to each his own beliefs.Dave

Follow up on your hypothesis on the Schumann Resonance generator so you can explain why the many that have actually used this in the physical world are actually imagining things. Im sure many would like to know. AudioAsylum would be a good place to start a thread as there are many engineer and PhD members.
So what should it take to generate a 7.83Hz electromagnetic wave (unknown amplitude)? All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed, second it is violently opposed and third, it is accepted as self evident.
