The whole thing sucks ****, and I hope the OP gets this resolved. as far as the newb thing goes this sucks for any of the new guys to step in here that could be a straight up guy to deal with, it only takes one bad apple to **** it all up.
Hell i have not been here a year yet so all n all I am still a newb, and I have conducted business with a few gents here with no problems, and hope to continue to do so.
This is just bad, the guy is just not slapping the OP in the face but all of us as a whole, and the fact that he has been on and not saying a word makes this even worse IMO.
Off with his head I say. -
That was a waste of a perfectly good box. Why not just throw a shipping label on the speaker? That way at least they see what it is and handle it better.
You know what? I think you are absolutely right.

I always worry when I'm getting something shipped here from the U.S. Because no matter how good the seller packs it, customs can open any box they wish to examine the contents, and they don't give a crap how they close it back up.
Same thing when driving through the border. They can take your dash off if they wanted to, and they don't have to put it back.
I think that the only person more powerful than a border guard is God. Trust me, these guys can make your life difficult if they want to.
And oh yeah.....terrible packing job.

I want to say that the OP knew what he was doing when he shipped the item in such a poor-excuse-for-a-box. The speaker, as we all have concluded, is not the same one as posted in the F/S thread. Therefore, any damage that had occurred would give one the idea that it was damaged during shipping due to the horrible packaging. What does this accomplish? Nothing really, but he thinks he could've fooled someone with what he did. As much as I'd like this to be resolved, I doubt he'll come back. Iirc, didn't someone mention something about mail fraudulence?

What a waste of a great speaker. On a brighter note, if it is functional, $100 for a cosmetically challenged 350 is not a horrible deal. I am NOT condoning the seller, this sucks big time. Relacement grills can be found in in fact there is a thread where I bought some LSfx's with (disclosed) broken grill pins. A useful repair was suggested. If the seller doesn't man up, fix em, plug them in and enjoy. I wish you the best!

I'm sure you may know this already, but just to make sure there isn't any confusion about the way you worded it....since thinngs get taken out of context pretty easily around here---The OP didn't ship this, he received it from the seller that way.____________________

Time to shut the thread down.
The individual is not going to show up, or make good. Pursue whatever legal alternatives that might be available to you.
The only purpose this thread has now, is for these damn C3PO sounding twits to get more brown-nose posts in.
Sure, we can be friends. I love friends. -
TK, just wanted to chime in that yes feedback does come from the buyer/seller. That member is also required to post what thread the deal took place in, and has the option to add further remarks if anyone wanted a full description of what had happened good or bad.

If you keep the speaker , the tabs can be glued back together with some degree of success. I've glued alot of JBL grill tabs back together with super glue GEL...
Just make sure you glue each back on to the place it broke off from. Be sure to check for fit before gluing the pegs back on.;)
I still wish you good will..Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them. -
This will either be handled privately or not at all. There are many of us that have tried to help behind the scenes with no success. I believe it to be a moot issue. Sorry Luke, wish we could have helped more.
My suggestion as a buyer/seller myself is that any website you folks peruse on a given basis, keep an open eye out for THIS seller(Polkie918) and notify the admins concerning this thread in particular. I will notify the admins within the network of the same issue and subsequent transaction.
The thread will remain on the website.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
