How to stop sub from moving on the floor?

I have just purchased a DSW microPRO 4000 for my living room. Geez, amazing bass! However, it shook and moved little by little on the wood floor. What should I use to make it stop moving? :D

Add some weight to the top of it to hold it down.

    Sounds like a good idea..

Couldn't you also just get some rubber padding...what do they call that substance which is used to absorb the thump subs send to rooms below them...I can't recall at the moment..but you guys know what I mean.....help me out here..I'm drawing a blank..

Have your wife sit on it, this will make her feel part of your home theatre. If you have no wife it would give you a good reason to go out and find one.

Try an Auralex SubDude or any of their other products.

If you have skillz, you can always build your own DIY sub riser. It can help tighten your bass as well as isolate it from your floor. I have my SVS sub on a temporary 6" sub riser and am quite pleased with the results.

Thanks so much for quick responses from leroyjr1, Lasareath, maandjojo, louhamilton, TNRabbit, and MrGlobe :) I went ahead and followed louhamilton's suggestion of the Auralex Subdude foam. The wife would not allow me to drill the floor/baseboards, I could not think of anything I got to put on top of the sub while preserving the good look of the environment, and I did not have the nerve to share maandjojo's suggestion to her :D, therefore I actually bought the HD version of the Auralex Subdude riser to match the sub's color. It's $59.97 w/ FS on eBay.
Once again, I really appreciate your advice :)

I had that same problem with a very low power Boston Accoustics sub. It just wouldn't stay put on my hardwood floors, and actually moved enough to knock the surge protector out of the socket and shut urrything down

The walking all over the place has to do with the bass radiator and the fact that it can hit the floor at louder volumes (or during a super heavy bass hit/rumble). It can walk across heavily carpeted floors in addition to wood floors. I'd not advise putting the MP4K on top of something that isn't level with the ground, lest it move itself off the SubDude and come crashing to the floor (or tilt enough to damage the bass radiator - remember, the sub isn't exactly light).

but what about that thin rubber stuff they sell on rolls , its used under carpets so they dont slide , 3m and contact paper sell it in rolls I have seen it at hardware stores and even in supermarkets to go in drawers to stop stuff from sliding .
It may sound silly but I try and use a cheap fix befofe I go out and buy a subdude (isolator pad) $50 ebay .

You can build your own type of 'subdude' with some mdf and other parts for on the cheap. I'm thinking about making one myself with the extra mdf I've got laying around and 3M adhesive spray.

My cheap fix on my hardwood floors was a piece of carpet cut out to size.

Oh and regarding the "eats bass"...it just kills some of the "boominess" (artificial bass) and lets you hear the true accurate bass the micropro can produce.

    Btw, nice clean setup DMara!

Big Rubber speaker feet is what I use on my walking subs. Works every single time. We have many powerful Subs and they love to walk around. So this is the best thing I have found. Any good quality rubber will stop a sub from wondering.

Thank you very much for everybody's compliments :) I and the wife worked our asses off for a month and a half remodeling the dining room - living room - master bedroom from A to Z: painting - laying wood floor - running baseboards and quarter rounds - setting up AV wires. We are proud that we could finish it ourselves without having to contract anybody :D. Now it's time to enjoy the holidays :D. I really love the Club!
