The bigger idiots are those who believed he was actually in it.

Well...it could have been. They needed the balloon to get back to the mother-ship. The kid was just a diversion. They are probably light years away by now.

What do you care about this kid in Colorado?

It is only natural to care about the well-being of others, particularily if they are in peril as appeared to be the case with this boy. Thankfully it was a happy ending, and an appropriate punishment will be administered.

Darn, I was hoping for some sort of exciting aerial rescue involving blackhawks and harrier jump jets. Not that I wish ill will on the little guy and his family but this presented a unique problem and I was looking forward to seeing human ingenuity at work. Happy ending nevertheless.

Making sure car keys are not left around for kids to grab and go for a joyride is something everybody should do. Those of us that have balloons like this laying around should really make an effort to keep the kids away from them.

This kid and his siblings are probably headed for The Darwin Awards. Some people shouldn't be parents.

That's very easy for you to say after the fact. Imagine if the kid was in it, and no one did anything, because anyone who would've believed that the kid could have actually been in the balloon would be stupid according to Face.

I mean the whole bit about the media making a big deal out of it, it's nothing new. Our nation panicked? Not hardly.

People are discussing it like crazy all over the country right now. Whether or not it affects your life on a personal level, you are in fact contributing to making it into a "big deal" by further discussing it.

That being said...this event hasn't greatly impacted my life.

What I thought was most stupid was the people at my restaurant watching this at the bar and actually thinking a 6 year old was FLYING the f'n thing. I was shaking my head the whole time. It was just pretty obvious to me that a 6 year old doesn't manage to untether a weather balloon, and somehow climb inside and fly it around colorado at 10000 feet. My bosses son is 6, and cant even color inside the lines lol. And then the news coverage that just wouldn't stop even after they knew he wasn't in it. Retarded. Darwin award potential? Yeah. Morons for parents? Yeah. "lets build a flying saucer!" (dumbass). That said, I think NooshinJohn was just trying to say that no one likes to see a child in harms way. He might have been better off in the balloon though. A couple hundred mile ride, nice soft landing, freaked out parents with tears of joy and hugs and "I love you's". Might as well be Christmas compared to the **** whipping this kids gonna get lol!!!

It is unfortunate, but there is a lot of competition here now for that title. Will probably be among the finishers though.
