Ken Swauger to retire

Ken has announced that he intends to retire at the end of the month. Much to my surprise, Ken is not buying an RV, or moving to Florida, or taking whittling classes (no offense to all you whittlers living in Florida). He has other plans befitting a gentlemen of such immense talents. But I'll let him tell you when he's ready.
It goes without saying that I and Polk will miss him. I know many of you will as well. Ken and I have worked together for most of his 14 years here and I've never heard him raise his voice to a customer. And in spite of what you may have heard, his tic is barely noticeable.
He is one of the most patient men I have ever known. Ken has worked his magic on countless angry customers, making Polk fans out of the vast majority. His knowledge of audio and music is staggering.
I am grateful to have had the opportuinity to work with him all these years. Please wish him well. He will surely remain in the Polk family and, I have no doubt, a member of the forum.
I know many have your own Ken stories. We all would love to hear them.

Well let me one of the first to pick my jaw off the floor.
Excellent news for Ken. Of course he cannot be replaced. I know the great CS Ken is responsible for will go on but no one can fill Ken's shoes and not even be expected to.
Ken has helped me with product questions, guidance and as mentioned extreme patience, everything from building SDA connects, Tweeter repair, configuration recommendations, the list is long.
Ken will always be a Polkie around here, no goodbye, just moving on to big and better.
God Bless you Ken.
Thank you for everything.

Ken, congrats on your retirment. You will be missed big time. Please don't make yourself scarce on the forum. I would still love to hear your awesome analog rig.
BTW thanks for hitting the curve ball I threw you out of the park when I was panicking about what I thought was the wrong MW drivers in my 1.2 TLs.
God Bless You Brother. -
Ken,
I have always enjoyed your posts. You will be greatly missed, both your extensive knowledge and incredible customer skills. It is a sad day for Polk Audio to lose such a dedicated and truly passionate employee, but a great day for you to reap the benefits of a great career.
I wish you the best in your future endeavours and hope you'll continue to check in on the forum from time to time.

Thanks Ken, i really appreciate the help you gave me when i got my SRT's. You went above and beyond to help me find find replacement parts for them. I was speechless when i received the remote, airmailed half way across the world, free of charge?!
You created a customer service dept, that was second to none, and i thank you for that...
Good luck for the future. In terms of audio, i truly feel sorry for the visually impaired. How can they know what they like if they cant read google?

Now, while I know nobody is irreplaceable, I surely know Polk has a great challenge of ensuring that the same courteous service is still provided to us in order to keep the reputation it has earned for their outstanding CS. While I haven't been a member of this board for that long I join with the "old timers" to wish you well and congratulate you on your move for a better future/career. A great lost for the Polk family but I am convinced a gain for your future employer/venture/customer!
ALL the BEST to YOU!

Hello,
Thank you, very much, for your kind words. But the honest truth is that the other folks, in customer service, both in Baltimore and Vista, CA. do the real work and make me look good. I just get the pleasure of being able to interact with the Forum members more. You' ll be in excellent hands with Helen, Kim, Eric, Kyle, Gil, Angel and Art, they will continue to make sure you enjoy your Polk products. Al Ballard has always, without exception, been the perfect person to work for. He wants everyone to have a good experience when they contact Polk Audio and lets us do our jobs to try and make that happen.
My plans are to continue in the world of audio and begin a cottage business of refurbishing and modifying classic audio equipment, with an emphasis on open reel tape equipment. You can continue to keep in touch with me by responding to my "alter ego" Jed Leland on this forum. I welcome suggestions, from anyone, on how to make that happen. Maybe I can help construct someones pet project?
Again, thank you and continue listening!

On different occasions, Ken gratuitously sent me screws for a CS-400, the last set of grills ever available for a pair of AB-855's, and mounting brackets for a pair of M3's. First rate customer service.
Thank you, Ken. You represent customer service at its finest. -
