I joined before 2000, like in late 98 I think it was, maybe '97? I can't remember for sure but I know I was a co-op at Lockheed at the time so it was around 97-98 timeframe. But the place was a graveyard and quite dead so I posted once, saw no activity for 2 weeks and forgot about it. I was also under a different name. I think it was just "John". Found it again in summer of 2002 and lurked until December. But my previous account was not there and common names were unavailable as user names so I had to make a new one.

So I tagged pre-2000 on the list even though I wasn't really active. Although I did fill out of one those customer cards when I got my EX car speakers back in 1996 and checked the box that asked if I'd like to be part of a Polk Audio owner's club!

I joined December of 2005 - right after I had picked up a pair of Monitor 70's from Circuit City.
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

Back around 2000 or so when I got my first pair of LSi15s. However, I made the mistake of using my real name so I later changed it, and lost all my post count.

Joined the club in '99 but not the forum with my RT1K's purchased from CCity. That didn't happen until I dropped my hobby of riding (sport biking) and picked up something a little more budget friendly :D

I would figure back around 2000, but didn't officially join the forum till 2003. However, bought my first pair of Polk's in 1985, does that count?

I joined in 2007. I was searching for information on our little Polk MiniMonitors. We had four of them and I wanted to find suggestions about an appropriate matching center to use them for 5.1. Immediately found the Polk Audio website, and stumbled accross the forum. Subsequently, when searching for information on a subwoofer, I found a detailed review here by Ron Temple on the model I was researching, even though it wasn't from Polk Audio. Since I found many of his suggestions helpful on AVS (where he also lurks), I decided to join up here. If it was good enough for RT, it was good enough for me, and we did already own Polks, so it seemed like a sensible thing to do.

I had a telephone conservation with Ken Swauger regarding my old Monitor 10's. Ken suggested I go on the forum and read up on all the great information posted here. He was right and it's all his fault I now have three pair of Polk's and spent thousands on equipment. Thanks Ken!!

My Friend Ryan - whom some of you may have met at Polkfest 2008 - sold me a pair of monitor 10s he got from the flea market because as he said - you need a pair of real speakers...........my response was - "wow - they sound pretty good" (I'm a real observant person) He also gave me the CS245 center before I moved from Buffalo NY to Bethesda Md.

My friend John here in Bethesda found me a pair of SDA-CRS in the thrift store and sold them to me for 100 bucks.

They sounded good - I used them as my rears - but there was something missing.....so I went to the local polk dealer - grafitti audio video in Bethesda and the sales person said you need more power - but not having read your website yet - I bought my Denon receiver for a very reasonable price..........and a PSW 404 sub for cheap.......

They still didn't sound great - so I went to this website and I learned about the "interconnect" cable.

Ordered one from Polk CS and wow - the rears became the fronts.

But then my friend Ryan showed up at my place in Bethesda with some monitor 7s including stands and matching peerless tweeters which I purchased for about 100 bucks - hence now having a 2ch and a 5.1 setup in our house we moved to last year.

I have been a fan of the polk community ever since and thank all the experts for the outstanding advice - which revolutionize(d) my system over the last year.

Stay tuned for some new photos in the showcase as I made a lot of improvements since moving in. Rock On

Bought a set of Momo 6x9's for my beloved Dodge Ram back in 2003 and for **** and grins decided to register them online and stumbled on the forum. Lurked for a while and posted as a guest for a few months then finally registered in December '03. Lots of good times in the car audio side back them. About a dozen of us, all green as hell, discovering little bits and pieces and couldnt wait to post them on the forum so we could talk about them for 3 days. Ah those were the days.
