August 2008. Bought some LSI's to have something to listen to while recuperating from a major car accident. It was the best therapy. Still benefiting from it. Too bad I couldn't submit the invoices for all of the EIGHT pairs of Polks that I've purchased since then to my insurance company!!;)
Wait a minute, I just remembered, I ordered a set of db5251's for the Jag on Friday.....make that NINE pairs of Polks since August 2008.....
and the pair of Magnepan SMGa's from ebay yesterday.......:o"The good thing about science is that it's true whether or not you believe in it." Neil deGrasse Tyson. -

I joined up in October 2008, with the intention of getting some Monitor 50's for my fronts with a CS2, and Monitor 30's in back. I never ended up getting them. I ended up getting talked into RTi's.
Then I discovered vintage Polks, before I ever even got the RTi's. My Peerless Monitor 7A's changed the way I look at the audio hobby...and really opened my ears up.
Now I've got a full RTi HT system(CSi5 is on it's way!:D), some Monitor 7A's, and a pair of SDA 2A's. I have a dedicated 2 channel rig...and many thousands of dollars in upgrades planned for the future.
Thanks Club Polk!! Never have I experienced such thorough wallet draining.:pThe nirvana inducer-

I joined in 2007 when my PSW202 sub went to crap hoping to find a fix. Instead I found Mr. Swauger at Polk Customer service who fixed it for free. I was sold on the product after that. I joined because I had a full Polk HT and liked it. Now I don't own any Polk speakers, but still have a hat and wall banner.

I am looking to join sometime in the early part of next year.:DI like speakers that are bigger than a small refrigerator but smaller than a big refrigerator:D

I was not really allowed to join, I had to send in an application, their was some secret PO Box you used, I believe this inner sanctum was headed by GG and some guys in green tights.

he never wore the tights, he made the other guys do it, at least that is my understanding, in looking at the poll its kind of easy to see the influx of new folks.
We used to have a guy Bob McGee or something, he was quite the early corner stone rock of the club along with GG, nascarman (RIP), RuSsman, Hoosier, MadMax, even Sid the Kid who was like 12 years old and still playing with his toys in the sandbox along with the other mover and shaker's you see with 2001 dates, that was when Polk redid the website and everyone started over. The hazing period back then was quite frustrating for a newb in 2002, kinda tough to make your bones back then.
RT1 -
LOL, yeah I have Googled stuff a few times and have run across the old school page you speak of. I was like what the heck is this, until I looked at the dates. I am very much a newb at this site, but I have learned a lot and hope I have been able to help a few folks along the way.

Bob McGowan (who still drops in time to time) and his brother "Fireball" Mike McG. Both great guys. There was a guy named Frozen Willie (Ian) who had a bike shop up in Canada. Stubby was around back then too.
Troy and Russ came around the same time. I remember I met BDT when I hand-delivered a pair of really bad Pioneer speakers to him at Charleston AFB, for his garage rig. And a small Marantz receiver. -
i joined with two accts, this one and the one that got banned, candyliquer35m
This is one of the funniest things I've read since I joined in April '06.

2002 and I remember the hazing. Thanks Ted.
Michael, yea, now that I think about it, GG was actually alot harder on Doro, he made him wear those assless chaps in a walk-about around his neighborhood, although, I suspect that is when Doro met Shawn and they became good buddies......hmmmmm
Thanks GG, Bob McGowan was the guy I was trying to recall, very good dude.

Bought a set of Momo 6x9's for my beloved Dodge Ram back in 2003 and for **** and grins decided to register them online and stumbled on the forum. Lurked for a while and posted as a guest for a few months then finally registered in December '03. Lots of good times in the car audio side back them. About a dozen of us, all green as hell, discovering little bits and pieces and couldnt wait to post them on the forum so we could talk about them for 3 days. Ah those were the days.
youre still a noob!:p
I went from blowing subs every 3-4 months to not having subs for going on 3 years!
