I'm not. I'm with the wife on this one.

Sorry I love the SDA's but they will never darken my door either.

When he gets a big enough house to have his own separate room for audio then go for it. But for a shared room....nope!

Now, if you go away for four months like she just did, you'll probably return to discover that she has decided to keep them, but painted the cabinets the same color as the walls, and changed the cloth to match, so that they "blend in" better.

Admit it now! Making such a dramatic change in the family room was not the smartest thing to do during a prolonged absence. She might as well have come home, expecting to relax in her own familiar room, only to discover you had painted it scarlet and black.

Hmmm..... 6 months later after wifey has got home and he still hasnt been able put em to good use because he bought the SDA's without approval. :p

Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D

I think its best to commnicate with wife and get approval without deciding to add something in house on your own while your wife gone for a long time.

    I agree with mr. kex

I think she will let me keep them. I have given up so much to help her success, and she knows that. They are a shocking speaker to view if you have never seen them before, and their imposing size tends to create their own gravitational pull, forcing they eye to look at them. She was impressed tonight be the way they seemed to disappear when we watched a chick flick together, and understands my passion for audio. She also discovered my CSDA-1.2 center tonight and when she learned I built it myself to go with the monoliths, I could see her heart soften quite a bit. They will be staying and she has already come to accept that. Being the stubborn Persian woman she is, she will let me twist a bit first...

I'm happy for ya..really. I think your wife understands your passion for POLK SDA's is serious!

My speakers size disappears also when listening to them and have impressed me from day one.
I hope to get the big ones one day but for now I'm :D.

Fortunately for me, my girlfriend likes the look of big crazy electronics as the focal point of our living room. The biggest fight we had recently was convincing her that my new Salamander stands are better than my old VTI stands.

SDA's aren't all that imposing. Yeah, they are BIG but at least they are finished up cleanly. Next time she goes away, pick up a set of Carver Amazings. Then you'll REALLY see her flip her sh#%!!

How about putting the Wilson MAXX series 3 in the living room for a surprise:eek:.

I don't think there would be an adjustment period except for the time it would take for my wife staying away until they found a new location. AND then the cost of them would come out . 68,000. a pr.
I don't know if my marraige would last much longer than a minute more.THEN, I know she would want them in the settlement dispute just to sell em and get the cash back for herself .. HELL hath no fury....

My wife is still patient with my hobby.. for now;)

Chick flicks for a month and you're home free. Play her some Persian music and you might be off parole alot sooner. I've got a couple or 3 CD's by these guys:

She HATES thems and wants them gone:eek: .

Only one pair of the big boys ??? Thats not even remotely reasonable , now if the house was full...sure...but ONE item you are so passionate about should be a given to stay. With the grills on, they look very classy and fit in with just about any decor.

I finally found my wifes limit when the vintage polks started spilling over from my storage room into her bedroom office. I had already put a pair of the big boys in her office for storage, and told her I was going to put my newly acquired full SRT setup in her office as well...she said no :D ( I didnt bother bringing home the Amazings :p )

The big boys are in her office on the right...and the 2.3's are in the storage room to the left :D
