My wife comes home from Los Angeles today for the first time in almost 4 months. She has yet to see the 1.2TL's that have taken up residence in the living room. I hope she will see them as works of art and not as just a pair of wooden boxes that make too much noise.

Yowsers!! Best of luck and if it were me I would make sure I had a few of her favorite things handy. Good to have some of her favorites on hand anyway. Lets her know how much you were thinking about her. It's the small things that matter imo.:D

If she does not like them you can always sell them to me. j/k;)

Don't give in! It is your house too. Unless you are unemployed, she has no right to be angry. You didn't put a goat in there too did you? Seriously, I have/had the same problem with my wife. Don't be a jerk, just talk calmly and explain yourself. Good luck.

Looking at your signature, I'm guessing all of that equipment is sitting in the family room or man cave and there's not a hint of anything AV related in the living room. If so, she may have it in her mind that the living room is hers to decorate and if you've crossed that line and invaded her territory, you're toast. Practice the "Oh, I wanted to test it out and see how you'd like some ambient music in there" speech.

If my assumptions are wrong and everything's in the living room, you should be good to go unless you get ensnared in the "did you need another speaker???" argument.

    Good luck!

It is all in the living room, and they really don't take up that much more of a footprint than the 1c's I had. The catch is that these are taller than she is, and tend to be a bit intimidating if you stand next to them. I think she will go along as today I cut my lawn with an interlocking heart pattern, and with flowers... what can she say?

Good luck John! She'll be alright with the size of the speakers. Most times, wives just don't like the money being spent. This might cost you a lot of jewelry. :D

I'm afraid your luck has run out. How lucky can you be to get her out of the house for FOUR MONTHS!:confused:

Lucky indeed. If she likes them, play the lottery immediately, you are a very lucky person in general.:D

You should play Strauss' "Also Sprach Zarathustra" really loud when she comes into the living room and sees them for the first time. For those that don't know this tune it's the dramatic music from "2001 A Space Oddessy" when the ape men first see the monolith.

If you bought something say from Tiffany's and left it on the speaker, she may not even notice the towers, then you can tell her they came with jewelry purchase
