I think that's about the best you can do without ripping out the fireplace.

RMs are small, i still think you could put one on the mantle and maintain a high WAF

wallstreet: which one do you thinks is best?

rs159: Isn't on mantle still too high? That is why I though of stands.

TonyPTX: When you had your RM's up on the the ceiling like that were they the fronts or surrounds? How did it sound? OK?

    Joe,
your placement for that corner I still believe is from the ceiling.you can get a more open soundstage with the right angles.
You know Inceiling speakers with adjustable tweeters would yield the cleanest Install.Believe it or not, they sound fantastic.

Yes I am a Audio and Video Installer.Expert(Pro around here as been called)if you will.

It was both. I had the fronts in the corner and the surrounds in the corner. It wasn't optimized but it "had to do" considering the placement of my equipment in the room. Honestly it didn't sound all that bad (speakers were about 10 ft from the listening spot) for satellite speakers (which is why I upgraded to some towers a month later while I still could).
Damn....8 lines...I've gotta put my sig on a diet now....

if you want something slick, kef has some speakers that drop down from the ceiling when a signal is present.

If you can put the center where it is in the pic here then putting the right main on the mantle would be perfect. That's the reason I wanted a pic with the tv stand *open* - so I knew how and where the center went.
