The movie Freaks is weird, bad, old, and gross at the same time.

Requiem for a Dream was a movie that just blew me away. Beautiful and horrifying at the same time. Soundtrack really added to the effect. Cool camera work in several parts, too.

If you like happy endings and hearts and flowers, avoid it, but if you like powerful cinema, this one is for you. IMHO.

Hard Candy was my favorite movie the year it came out. What a terrific film. Powerful. Disturbing? Maybe... but I would say it is a must own for everyone

I've seen more than a couple of those. Hard Candy was a great film. Well crafted, excellent acting, and it will blow your socks off. Scores #1 of the most F'd things I've seen in while. The difference between it and some of the others that I've seen from that list, is that it was done in a mainstream way. Front and center, brightly lighted F'-ed-ness, no excuses. I turned to TLW, and said, ''we won't ever forget seeing that one"

    Hey now.:p

You know you're welcome to whatever might have been found in the 545, Dave, but you don't have to go public about it. There's only so much to go around.:p

Requiem For a Dream is an awesome movie. I've had this movie for quite a few years now, and love it. I don't think I've seen any of the others on this list though.

Only movie I found disturbing (for me anyway) was An American Crime. It's based on a true story. After watching this I was literally pissed off. If you've seen this, you can relate. If not, be warned. It's not an easy film to watch.

Yep, as a parent, I was deeply disturbed that something like this could actually take place. Great movie, but I literally didn't sleep for two nights after watching this. How could anybody be that F'd up?

just watched August Underground Mordum. So now I've seen 9 out of 15 movies on the list, including 4 out of top 5 movies (haven't watched Eraserhead). 'm an avid horror movies fan.

While I don't get grossed out at all no matter what the movie is, I think AUM should be banned. It's just pure gore and sickness. With the motion of the hand held camera, it's an unpleasant viewing experience.

An American Crime and The Girl Next Door are very uncomfortable to watch (especially when they were based on the true event of Sylvia Likens) but they don't match AUM in term of sickness. Not even close.

I suggest no one watches AUM. It does leave a mental "scar".

PS; Also, Requiem and Jacobs Ladder do not belong in this list.

I liked the Butterfly Effect. It just shows how your life can radically change through minor decisions we may make in our lives. Some of the outcomes were very disturbing ... but when you think about it, reflecting upon decisions we all make in our individual lives, especially during our formulative years, ... dam, I feel lucky!

Probably, the most disturbing movie I've ever seen was "Open Water." Based on a real life situation that happened. No good outcome for the "hero." It is the only movie I have ever witnessed the audience boo once the credits came up in a theater.

The booing came not from bad screenplay ... just the storyline outcome.

I've seen 3 on that list and none were disturbing, just gross. It's a joke of a list really.

The movie that disturbed/bothered/upset me the most is not on the list. It is Grave of the Fireflies. Granted, it is animated, and specifically designed to upset your emotions, but, even knowing that, it still bothers me.

Cut and gore movies are just that. To be truely disturbing, it has to be real ... at least in re-creation, such as "Open Water."

I once saw a video of the "Face of Death" series. Many of the clips are real videos of self filmed suicides, etc. Very disturbing.

They rank up there with an internet flick saw a while back concerning a suicide victum being embalmed (including the inclusion of a police video of the body being recovered).

I have seen just about every movie on that list but I have not seen An American Crime and after reading about it I am not sure I do. From what I read it reminded me of the recent story in the news about the guy who kept his Daughter in the basement for 24 years http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,352805,00.html

The real world is more disturbing then fiction.

I've seen almost all of them and half are just awful to watch, because they just stink. I Spit On Your Grave might have been scary and shocking 20 years ago but it's a joke....so is Last House on the Left.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Not a genre I care for. I've seen one of all the films mentioned. It is likely the only one I will ever see.

When you're 9 years old, seeing the "Exorcist" for the first time is pretty **** disturbing. Hell, it's still pretty disturbing to me at 41. The movies that are "based" off of true events are the most disturbing.

I saw about 20 minutes of "Hostel" and found that over the top disturbing, too. The scene where dude is going at the Asian girl with a blowtorch and she escapes with her eyeball dangling, until she cuts it off and all the green **** oozes out, was quite the stomach turner. I'll not be watching the entire movie anytime during this life.

Right on Noel................I still have a hard time at 42 watching the entire un-cut "Exorcist". Heard about "Hostel" but have never seen it.

Please, the uncut "Exorcist" is humorous by today's standards.

As for "Hostel", I will agree that it was a little disturbing.
