    Slowpolky,

What's up with you charging to other polkies who had given you good advise? Besides, what did F1 did to you to deserve your pissing behavior? F1 is a very helpful to many polkies here!

But I'll chime in for the AV123 MFW15....It's a good sub when it works. But about 70% of the time, it quits. If you want it, go for it! If you feel it's a bang for the bucks, it will be quite a bang for you (may be in the back instead of a buck). I have no beef with AV123. Just repeating what others have been telling you all along.

I hope AV123 will get the new amp out to prevent the amp failure. Good Luck with your decision!

Slowpolk, you seem genuine in looking for feedback but do not get upset if you are hearing feedback you do not like.

I caution you on coming back at members like F1 and others. You will not get better information than from these guys and if you listen to them you will learn alot.

I take it you are a young man and may not have had to learn to bite your lip.

Chill out, move on if you don't like the feedback and contribute often but listen more.

Just would like to add that i have several products from AV123 and couldnt be hapier with them

I had a problem with one of my sub drivers surrounds coming loose on my strata minis and they sent me out a replacement immediately and free of charge... they didnt even want the replaced driver back.

Also i have a pair of x-subs. i bought each one about 3-4 months apart. when i recieved the second one it was slightly larger in dimensions (a different factory) they replaced my original X-sub that was 3-4 months old with another brand new one to match my recent purchase. No Charge!

Since then i havent had any problems. However i will say that this was all before the forum 'meltdown' and the recent problems they have been having. Bang for buck i dont think they can be beat and have taken care of me in the past.

    Just my experience. Good luck!

Not sure there is anything I could add, but in case you still care to read more here ya go:
    http://www.tweakcityaudio.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=6
or you could probably do a search on any audio forum for the MFW and see more of the same. If you are not in a hurry and can wait it out, see when the reliability is really fixed and AV123 looks more stable then give it a shot. But when that takes place look for the price to go up.

If you are in a hurry look at the numerous other outstanding options mentioned.

    Have you checked out these:
    http://www.edesignaudio.com/product_info.php?cPath=2_41&products_id=618

Very close in price (when you add shipping to the MFW) yes the spec sheet gives you better numbers with the MFW, but that is just ink on paper. (take it for what it's worth)

There are lots of great and positive stories about AV123 and Mark Schifter throughout their history though they've had a history of QC problems with gear that has a power cord connected to it. I'm sure that they didn't want any of this to happen, but it is happening and you can't ignore it. I truly want them to survive, prosper and their customers made whole. If that happens, in a couple of years this will be forgotten.

Hi Slowpolky, I think there are some misunderstanding between you two. I don't think you are a Di#K or anyone else in this matter. It's just that may be we all did something not nice to someone occasionally even though unintentionally.

I know you mean no harm for expressing what's in your mind but some folks in the forum may take it otherwise. I have been called "Big Little Chicken" (whatever that means?) and Fools here before by people who don't know me at all but I hold no grudge and I don't retaliate to the person who called me.

It just seems wrong and I think I am too old to hold a grudge to anyone here or in real life. Things happen...calm down and give it a rest. I am sure you'll come around to other good discussions with F1. He is one of a good guys here in CP.

Regarding MFW15, I have thought about buying a pair for $800 shipped direct from AV123 when it was on discount like a year ago. I then heard a lot of problems with the plate amps so I waited since. I hope they'll come around in this. Ron Temple is a resident polkie in AVS Forum and he knew pretty much well about MFW15 and I don't think his posts are negatory to the AV123.

MFW15 is a good product with some serious problems. Let's just hope they can fix it before it takes a toll on their business and reputations.

Aside people having the problems with MFW15, I've heard a lot of good things about AV123 in other regards too. Once again, Good Luck with your sub purchase!

just an FYI, the new MFW-15 amp is entirely new and i believe will be american made. Many of the previous issues were due to counterfeit parts in the amps, thus failing early.

Its definately taking a chance getting this sub, but hopefully if it all works out well because this sub kicks serious ****. MY buddy has dual MFW-15's since the beginning and they have been amazing.

Many of the issues with the company have been with personal deals with MLS and not with the products (besides the sub of ccourse). They need to get themselves together.

I personally decided to take a chance an ordered one in diamond black. If it ends up failing then shame on me.

You did see the announcement yesterday that the d/blacks are B stock. If you want A stock, you'll need to wait.

Anyway, I hope it works out for you. As I said, I hope the company comes back strong and they need new business. I just think buyers really need to know the story and risks before making a decision.

You guys do know Mark at AV123 has like one of THE largest speaker cabinet plants around??

He produces ALOT of cabinets for other companies, and I would not be surprised if Polk is one of them.

+1 Difficult to see any American company having trouble, especially in these current times. Their products aways seemed to hit a sweet spot in audio, and until recently, always had a dedicated customer base and pretty good CS.

yup i talked to Kyle. I didnt want to wait til August for an A-stock.

The B-stocks they have right now are factory new, but with perhaps a tiny blemish. They also get the new amps
