Sure it is. And it pays for people who make sure that people adding things to their house do it according to building code. Great, that isn't going to happen for free.

The problem is that AHJ's were using permit fees to pay for things that should have been funded elsewhere and not just the Codes department.

Wow, and here I thought the US was the land of the free and all that.

Seriously though, regardless of how many guests he invites to his house, as long as they are legally parking on the streets, then what business is it of anyone? How is this any different than if he had a large familly that comes over every week for Sunday dinner? What if I wanted to have 40 members of my familiy over every weekend for a BBQ, do I need a permit? There is no way in the world that I would stand by and let someone else tell me that I can't have anyone or any amount of people over to my PRIVATE RESIDENCE, be it a party, bible study or any other gathering of law abiding people. The community streets are public roadways, as long as there isn't a no parking sign there, anyone has the right to park on them. Ticket and or tow anyone who's illegally parked, otherwise i'd be telling the neighbors to go pound salt.

Here's what my dad had to say-

"What she should have said is "Do you have a regular meeting in your home?" "Yes, during the football, baseball and hockey seasons". "Do you say 'amen'?" "Yes, after every 40 yard reception, home run and precision pass" "Do you pray?" "Oh yes, before every third and long, bases loaded and 3-2 count, and down 1 player in the penalty box". Do you say 'Praise the Lord?" "Yes, after every touchdown, go ahead run and goal".

This is government at it's worst. It's OK to gather a group every weekend for any other reason, just don't let it be to worship. I wonder if they have the same regulations for other faiths......"

He might've ripped that first bit from somewhere else... but either way it's hilarious.
    Ludicrous gibs!

Maybe some of you gun-toting California-haters should attend one of these bible study meetings.

"Love thy neighbor as you would love yourself" - Jesus Christ(ian).

I thought this was supposed to be a fun audio forum anyway.

    God Bless you.

Wasn't meant to be a personal attack, just the facts. Californians are simply reaping what they've sewed. Instead of using a little common sense, and a touch of tolerance with one another, they want a written law for everything. This is the result of legislating everything to death. You won't get an ounce of sympathy from me.

Having relatives in Northern California, I am well aware that Northern and Southern California are 2 completely different areas. It's Southern Cali that has become politically rediculous. As I stated before, now that they have f'd up their region to the point that they can't even afford to live there anymore, they want to bring their politics to other states; and along with it, artificially inflating housing prices. I've seen this first hand where I live. They think that $400k for an 1100 sq ft house is a wonderful deal.

    Bless you to brother.

"News" only exists because someone benefits from producing it.
Their desired result is to create opposing consensus.
One side argues for; the other against.

Neither side needs to really understand the truth, or the details, of the information conveyed.

Nothing about the "News" results in loving thy neighbor.

When I lost my legs were you there to help. No you probably wanted to cut my SSI disability check. Christ was there for every person. Not just those that shared his views? And you attack me. I'm going to have to agree.

Stevenmbell, take a pill, dude. steveinaz is most certainly not alone in his opinions of California. I would be willing to bet that at least 50% of the population in the other 49 states pretty much views the political system of Caulyfornya as a joke at this point. There is nothing you can do about that except vote. Arguing on the Internet and telling everyone that it's not true and the prevailing attitude is the opposite does nothing. Mainly because the majority vote put your current gaggle of douchebags in office and they have done a pretty good job of **** the pooch. So if you say things are so different, how did these people get in to office? Oh, that's right, because more people voted for them than the other guy, that's how.

Telling everyone here about your service record, lack of legs and so on doesn't help. If you really were in the service, thank you for your service and no one is suggesting that your G.I. benefits and disability benefits get cut.

Get off your political horse 'cause it's not going to win your friends here and it will pretty much ruin any chance of a positive experience you might have. We do our best to avoid politics and religion because they don't lead to good things. You, in a single post and one of your first few posts, violated both of those rules and now you're salty about it. Get over it dude. Not everybody is going like you. Take me for example, NOBODY likes me and I couldn't care less!

As for the rest of Club Polk, what is it with all the sand in the vajayjays lately? Everybody is pissing and moaning and nobody can take a joke! Especially the newbs! Although some newbs have seem hell bent and have done a pretty good job of cementing their reputation as bewbs and not newbs. Overall though, very few seem level headed right now. WTF? I know it's a full moon and stuff but honestly, WTF?

For what its worth, I refuse to watch FOX, NBC, CNBC, CBS, ABC, or most other televised news networks. All these networks intentionally try to anger and divide viewers over issues, rather than explaining and examining the issues.

The only one that does a relatively objective job of reporting actual news is PBS's "The Newshour with Jim Lehrer".

Also, I highly recommend subscribing to US News and World Report.

Just some ideas on other ways to receive the "news".

Might want to check out The Economist, you'll learn more in one or two issues than watching FOX (or others) for one or two years.

All reporting has a bias. As long as you know their spin, it's ok.
The U.S. News and World Report is just a shadow of what it once was.
It is living proof that unbiased reporting doesn't sell very well.
I DON"T watch the network news. It's become completely useless.
It's quicker to read the paper. You can pretty much scan through
and get what you want. Local tv news is even worse. Why do they
spend all their time and money to show some dilweed standing
next to something. Yes, we know it's raining. Paying a guy to stand in
    it is stupid.

Talk about parking, you should be where i'm at. I've got a corner lot.
The neighbors ALWAYS have a couple of cars parked along my side yard.
The guy next door has 1 or 2 depending if any kids are home.
The guy across the street always has two out there. I need to put up
a couple of parking meters. I'd be swimming in money.
