I'd email http://www.tubelab.com/ and make sure it's ok to tie the grounds.

Have you tried triode mode with the Polks yet?

Who would have thought it, SDA's sounding beautiful with less than 15wpc? :D

Thats what I am listening to them with. The Simple SE in triode mode. I don't usually ever listen in UL mode. Triode sounds much better IMO.

I've just strapped the negative binding posts. And so far no problems and sounds great. Dead quite.

Considering these might be one of the nicest specimens in the world. No exaggeration. I might keep them all original. They just seem to perfect to start doing modifications to. Who know though. Only time will tell.

    Another quick pic.

Did you get this download yet? I've no idea how useful it is ... (the manual, that is):

    http://www.polksda.com/pdfs/SDASRS1-2.pdf

Job well done, dude, and you certainly deserve these after all the cr@p that was flying around in here during your absence last night! I have no idea if I'll ever own SDA's myself, since they just wouldn't fit in the house where we live right now, but it's great to see another Polkie get a chance to feel the legendary magic.

Those things really do look brand new, BTW!

sorry to jump in here, nice score...my question is, you got the SRS 1.2TL, now what are the differences between these, and for example, just SDA SRS or SDA SRS 1.2

    thanks

I had a feeling that these were better than advertised. That's a real score. I'd leave them stock, get used to them, save some coin, then do the upgrades.

    Welcome to the cult.

There perfect. How the guy kept them in this good of shape I will never know. I mean. After 20 years or so. You would think a vacuum cleaner or SOMETHING would have left a mark.

I am happy to see you got them bro... It just figures the one day I choose to spend with the wife (30 minutes from these beauties I might add) they go up on CL. I usually check CL twice daily for Polk SDA's and had I been able to do so they might have come here instead.

Some here may know of my 1.2TL's... short story is I lost them to divorce and a trash collector in Los Angeles did the rest by crushing them in the compactor of his trash truck before I could save them. Though this does not excuse my agressiveness, I hope some of you can at least understand it, as once you have had these, nothing else comes close. Again I appologize for any grief that you might have gone thru, but I am certain the joy in your home tonite far outweighs the BS... Again, congrats!:)

I was thinking of running my SRSs with a TFM 35 and a TFM 45

is it possible to connect the 35 run the highs and the 45 for the lows, i am not familiar with bi-amping or how to do it....I always thought you would run the outputs from one amp to one set of posts, then the other amp to the other posts....sorry, I am not sure how, thats why I have never done it!!

but I just sold my TFM 45 :(

With two different amps, you have to run to both speakers with both amps. 35 to mid/tweeters & 45 to lows (horizontal bi=amping) Does your 45 have a gain control ? Remove "jumpers" between top set and bottom set of binding posts before bi-amping!!

OOPS, I just saw that you sold your 45 ! Get another 35 and then you can go vertical.

    :)
